To coming out an announce my intention to transition. Any suggestions? Should I validate my feelings with a counselor first? I'm 100% positive that's what I want, so what would change my mind?

I've always suggested counseling, but it's really your call as to whether you think you need it. Let's put it this way, it certainly doesn't hurt.

As far as coming out...your call too. I don't know your situation, everyone's different and such. I know I just charged full speed ahead and told the world, worked for me.
