Can someone give me the lowdown on slips. Half versus full. When should they be worn. Is it still a fo-pau (Spelling) for your slip to show?
Thank You. Jerry

Well if Madonna were to answer she would say it isn't a "faux pas" (that's the correct spelling btw :p ) to show one's slip. It is considered risque and should only be done on purpose and make it obvious it's on purpose. To not to so is like wearing two shades of one color that are too close in shade--it looks wrong. As for long versus short; it is supposed to correlate to the length of the skirt. And a slip these days need only be worn if your legs show through the skirt or you want to wear one. Me, personally, I have a habit of wearing petit pants (hard to find these days but I do happen across); they're kinda like what is known as a 'tap pant' too. I wear skirts you can't see through of various lengths and then I wear the petit pant under:)
More info than I normally give strangers about me underwears:p

Your slip shouldn't show Jerry, it's sloppy dressing. If you were in England you'd probably hear someone say, "Charlie's dead" :D I won't explain that, it would take pages. :)

Slips are very feminine,my sister would often wear a half slip and panties around the house. And as an 11 year old that had a lasting effect on me

Ah slips... I love slips and always wear one under my skirts or dresses, except for my lined skirt. But here are my rules. Full slip under dresses, half slip under skirts with a camisole if my blouse is sheer. (you should always wear a cami under a sheer blouse) Length should match the skirt or dress. Black or dark slip under dark colors, white or light colored slip under light colors, bonus points given for matching slip, cami, bra and panties ;)

We'd always say "It's snowing down south!" as it was usually a white slip showing
And I concur with Roberta!
