As I've said often, I have a beard which is a compromise with my wife. I'd love to go out, but the beard holds me back. So my question is, have you ever gone out, en femme, but with facial hair? Beard, or mustache, or sideburns, whether fully grown or just a few days growth.

This inquiring mid wants to know.

Check out Butterfly Bill! Has been out for years with a beard. In my case the beard I had for 24 years was part of my Denial, shaving it off was the first step on this weird road to Me.

Isnt there some other compromise you can come up with? By the sounds of it by the time you can shave next you'll need to do like the guys on this site...

I cut my 18 inch beard off 2.5 yeas ago. I have never been out either way though. I just can't get enough guts up to do it.

For 12 years now, and I believe the honesty gets a much better reaction that trying to pass and failing. Hippies and goths have also been observed this way in skirts.

King David and most of the Kings in ancient Israel had beards, wore dresses (pretty robes) and jewelery. Nothing wrong with that look. Western civilization has pretty much warped everyone's thinking when it comes to "proper" appearance. As Bill said, Hippies and Goth's have no problem with and I don't either. In fact, I may even try it some day myself. Ericka Kay

I am thinking of doing just that going out in a dress while wearing a beard because i dont want to shave my beard, beside there is no way i could pass for a women.

On one of my few trips out en femme I left on a day or so of stubble because I wasn't wearing makeup and I knew I wasn't going to get out of the car.

I got a very strange reaction from one guy at a gas station but it amounted to nothing more then a few double-takes and a moment or two of staring.

When we got to the Casino I simply removed my forms and wig, changed my shirt, and I was back to (mostly ;) )guy mode in seconds.

I too keep my facial hair as a compromise with the SO. Although in our case it is a 50/50 time split. For any 6 months out of the year I can fully shave so long as I let it grow back for the other 6 months.

If you don't go for fully emulating a woman, I think it actually can look good and interesting (otherwise the contrast might be too strong).
Once in a while I go out with a few days beard (never care for covering the beard shadow anyway), makeup and woman's-labeled casual clothes. I like it and never got an obvious negative response (can't read peoples minds, though). Sometimes it even seems to be protective, when people are too confused to snigger at you (at least it feels like that).

It's a free world... but I like the feminine look better. On warm days, I used to retouch my foundation every five... seconds, to make sure I had no visible five o'clock shadow.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to mention the first time I encountered someone cd'ing. It was in Miami back when I was younger. It was early morning and two young ladies were walking down the side of the street in the South Beach area. Both were in dresses and were rather attractive. I stopped and offered them a ride. As I was asking, I realized one had a full mustache. They happily declined the ride. I became very interested after that, which may have connected with some of my inner feelings. Anyway, thought you might like the brief story.

I have went out shopping with a moustach and no wig (I have a short business cut) so EVERYONE in the mall knew. Some people tried very hard not to look or react. however I got some discusting looks a coulple of whistles and a lot of laughter too. I had a great day and a lot of fun.

Since then I have shaved my moustach. My conscience got the better of me. Children, in my opinion do not need to be exposed to gender benders like that. Especially when they do not have a choice in the matter. So I either go all male or female now.
