Just for the fun of it, I took a Gender Test online on three different occassions. They all came back as around 80% female. I know we can't believe everything we read, but it was fun and it didn't surprise me at all. Has any one else taken one?

I have taken several, but they ALL put me right in the MIDDLE of the "Male" range.

I expected to se at least some "skew" to the fem side---or even a bit into the fem---but no, in the middle (not macho side either) of the male. And THIS is from ALL the tests I have taken.----and I was honest about the questions too.

I suspect that this is because I am an "Escapist" CD who CDs to temporally get AWAY from one's "male side"----as opposed to a "fem sider" CD who has a "fem side" they GO to, (rather than merly "escape" the male)

I took only one and said I was a "Gender Warrior". I liked that because of my new found confidence and acceptance. I know it means nothing but It does some what reveal my protective stand up attitude in my male role.

I took a on-line gender test one time.
It showed 60% fem, 40% male.

saddly, probably, all too accurate.

(but the fem side is gaining!) :heehee:

For Karen:

Ok this may be true but what are you when you're wearing something feminine while in 'guy' mode?

My result was androgyne..50:50

But, really, online gender tests do not mean much at all.

I think these tests shouldn't be taken too seriously.
They are a bit like flipping the coin in order to decide to do something or not.
If the first thought you get when the result shows up is a positive one, you confirmed yourself. If the result doesn't please you, you either flip the coin another time, or you say: This is nonsense anyway ;).

Besides this, they don't tell much about your choice of clothes. You can have or learn most of the so called feminine traits without dressing up to the nineth.
(I think there are a lot "CD/TS-in-mind" out there, that don't show up, cause "soft-skills" are not as obvious as the "hardware" clothes)

I took the Cogiati test once and didn't agree with the result. I agree with Lilith that these online gender tests really don't mean much at all.

Hi this is a good one girls http://www.transsexual.org/TEST0.html

It came up with this result:

Your COGIATI result value is: -5 Which means that you fall within the following category:

COGIATI classification THREE, ANDROGYNE

C'est la vie. Doesn't really matter no one can tell you who you are, only you can do that.

So it doesn't matter if you have 60% male and 40% female in you if you're happy, that's all that matters.

In the end i think you know who you are and you dont need anyone to tell you, or a test. I aways knew i was a woman in side and need to folow that dream. The road has been hard and still is, but i know i will come out the other side hall.

On the COGIATI I came back in the third catagory. Androgyne, I think. This is about right. I do not want to undergo surgery but I sure do love being a girl.

Ah ~ but were these tests generated by men or women? Hmmmmm ... could they apply to us? I mean, we're really neither men or women, we're crossdressers (gatecrashers is a word I prefer) - a very special human dipping deep from designer gender identification. I guess what I mean to say is tests are for Skinner pigeons.

I took the COGIATI test last July 2005. Not because I wondered about my gender, I KNEW I was a man, twisted, bent maybe because I liked to wear lingerie and hose, but a man, non the less.

But I have always had a feminine side, compassionate, supportive, understanding, nurturing, etc, and I loved having those attributes, because I felt it made me a better husband. I have never been nor do I know how to be a "macho man". But I grew to hate the phrases "man in touch with his feminine side" or "man with a strong feminine side". I wanted a new descriptor that identified me as a man with these traits.

I was on another forum when the URL for the COGIATI test was presented. I thought here is a way to find out what kind of a man I am. I took the test July 3rd 2005, and it literally changed my life. The diagnosis came back classification four, probable transsexual. We have all heard those phrases, "the world turned upside down", "it flet like the rug was pulled out from beneath me", etc, they were so inadequate in describing how I felt when I read the diagnosis. The first thing I remember is now I know why I have always felt like I was being pulled in two different directions, it made sense, body male, mind female. But I fought acceptance, or at least tried to for 8 weeks. Then I broke down and accepted the diagnosis, and at a certain level I have obtained a sense of peace and tranquility I have never known in my mature male life. Some day I would love to get confirmation by a gender identity therapist, but they won't have to help me accept my being a TS, I am already there and love it, because I am a woman.

Hmmmm. Is this a trick question?? Lol. Should have studied more. :)

Well I'd say if I'm I'm guy mode and wearing something fem that I'm still 100% male longing to be 100% female...

I've taken the COGITI gender identification test and got a score 0f 220.
It means I'm "classification FOUR, PROBABLE TRANSSEXUAL"

Not being a fence sitter, I jumped right in and took both tests.

COGIATI = four (possible transsexual with strong gender issues)

Moir-Jessel Brain Sex Test

If you are Male...
Your score is 75

Feminine Male
You score significantly more feminine than the average male. Male scores above 60 may show a brain sex bias to the female.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are Female...
Your score is 100

Extremely Female
You score significantly more feminine than even the average female. A score above 100 points to a very differently wired brain than that of the opposite sex . . . yet differences also attract.

See, I'm not confused, I always knew I was female and male.

I've taken the COGIATI test. Really nervous when I took it but confirmed what I thought me=feminine male.

Unfornately I suffer from OCD (I have difficulty with uncertainty) so I have checked again, and again, and again still same answer (no surpise)

All this doubting/checking was proving unhelpful so I refrain from doing it any more. Now i just accept that gender is really just shades of grey and need to get over my shame about wearing certain ladies clothes (dancewear mainly).

I wouldn't bother, Hon. It's someone else's assessment based on "data". I know who I am. Ericka Kay

The biggest problem with those test is that its easy to skew the test to get what you want. The questions are most always leading and you can pick what you want.

http://transsexual.org/cgi-bin/cgitest.exe

I tried to answer honestly as I could. Only thing that got me was how they took some of the same questions and reworded them and used them later in the test.

I scored a -45 on the test which said something like I could be either or neither gender, which is kind of funny lol

The online tests are fun, but pretty worthless. COGIATI is on a web page in stereotypically "femmy" colors. Not exactly a neutral setting is it?

And the tests themselves make it easy to get to results one may desire, since they usually relying on gender stereotypes. Think math is hard, exhibit a desire to comforts other, can't park your car into a narrow space easily -- why of course you must be woman! :tongueout

The resulting categories are a bit like newspaper horoscope. They're general enough that it's pretty easy to find bits that resonate.

At least the Butch/Femme test (http://members.tripod.com/~womens_voices/BFTS/butchfem.html) acknowledges it's a joke. (If you want to peek at the resulting category, they're here (http://members.tripod.com/~womens_voices/BF100/survey.html).)

I have also taken this test online. My results were the perfect blend between male and female..in other words androgyne.
The comment was that I am am one of the lucky ones...

Well that does explain some things that I have very male intrests, cars, shooting, bush trailing, boating...and I enjoy reading womans mags and looking at the latest trends in makeup and fashion.

All test have smoke screen questions that are just there to get you to answer. The ones that are the tell tail indicators are hidden amonst these and that is where the results are tallied from. I did this test a few times, months apart and each time it came up with the same answer.

One day I will takl to one of the Profs here at work and see if they will give me the same test and score me just to see if it agrees with the online one.

I work with about 12 Psychologists from all deciplines of the profession so that is an easy one to set up. I am not one of them but I am their technical person who helps out with any form of technical help need in teaching. I work at a small university in South Africa.

Internet gender tests are basically worthless pieces of entertainment, nothing more, especially COGIATI. Let's see now, "If your neighbor down the street has Motorhead cranking on his stereo, but you have trouble telling which direction it's coming from, you're a woman!" Get real. Ever notice how no one scores "You're a man in a dress, quit doing it"? According to COGIATI, there are more transsexuals walking around than Republicans...I don't think so.

Well I scored a 3, androgyne, not too suprising to me. For some of the questions, there is no answer that fits me right.

As with 6 months before, Score 0, Category 3, Androgyne and I am quite happy with that as it seems to accurately match my self image.

it didn't surprise me at all

See, that's the thing. It doesn't matter what these tests tell you. You're the only one who can tell you what you are. But the results are a neat springboard for thinking about yourself. Do I feel that way? Why or why not? Do I feel entirely that way or is there something about me that doesn't quite fit what they're saying?

Even now the results of these gender tests are great springboards. I took one last week that said I was 79% female and 21% male. Nope, I'm closer to 50/50. But in thinking about things I noticed I had been feeling consistantly more female than male around that time, certainly more so than when I scored somewhere aroung 63/37.

So for me I know that a series of results are meaningless in the sense that they can't possibly tell me what and who I am. But they're neat in that as my scores change each time they provide something more concrete than how do I feel today. The question is how do I feel today when I got this score compared to how I felt then when I got that score.
