Ok, so I'm in the shower, kinda weird how I always think of things to ask you when I'm in the shower lol........ and I thought, I wonder if the FTMs have any girlie things left, you know, like sentimental - clothes, shoes, makeup?? Or have you got rid of the lot (or never had any)??

**wonders just how many MTF's will answer lol**

Good question, Tamara. I'm probably in the minority, but I do have a few things I've hung on to, for whatever reasons. For example, I have a few shirts that most people don't realize are women's shirts, but I still wear them 'cause they fit better than men's shirts (which are not made to accommodate boobs) - plus I like the bright colors.

I also still wear the same shoes, but these were never heels or girly-looking shoes, just androgynous sneakers, loafers and sandals. I still wear them 'cause my feet are small and men's shoes aren't made in my size, but I've resolved to try and find something masculine and fashionable in the boys department.

Also, I still have some makeup. Although you couldn't tell from looking at my now-scruffy face, I sometimes use a little mascara (makes my lashes look naturally long - like some guys have), concealer (for underye circles) and clear mascara to keep my "creative eyebrow combover" in place - makes them look like I have more. :heehee:

Lastly, I still wear the same jewelry and will fight anyone who tells me it looks girly: a class ring on my right hand, a Claddagh ring on my left hand (both are very special to me), a marine link bracelet and matching marine link chain with a sailboat around my neck. My watch is also a woman's watch (although it looks gender-neutral) because I have a small wrist and I haven't yet found a man's watch that won't overwhelm it.

There's a guy in my support group who transitioned almost 30 years ago and he still wears rings that look like mine. He says he doesn't care what anyone thinks either - they're sentimental to him and that's what matters.

Are we placing bets?

Yes, it's true . . . I'm jealous of your whole 16-year-old-looking face. Just wait till you get to be my age.

I never really had girly stuff. I do own a bottle of foundation because I need to hide zits now and then.

I don't have anything girlie. Because I liked boy's things from a very "young" age (13) most of the things what are dear to me is boy stuff. I got a ring on my thumb which is very special to me, but it's a stainless steel men's ring.

I also got a thin necklace most people consider as a woman's thing. But I don't think so. My Dad gave it to me, so I don't care what they say anyway...

Like this one, 10 mm in size, on a thin silver necklace.

I've got some sentimental jewelry I don't wear. And some women's ceremonial/dress up clothes that are from my tribe. And a pair of cowboy boots that I could never get rid of, and are fairly andro looking. The pair I had that was definitely a chick pair I got rid of last week actually.

Ok I might be the strange one here but, I pretty much have a complete girls wardrobe. I don't wear the stuff that often but, there are times when I need to wear it just to keep the peace.
I'm also a jewelry nut :D and have a large collection that I will never get rid of and just like some of the others have said I don't really care what anyone thinks. I wear what I want.

When I came out of the closet I got rid of nearly all my feminine things although I did keep a couple of things for interview purposes like a black jacket, although I do pass quite well in it depending how I wear it lol :D and how embarrassing I kept a pair of ankle boots with small heels to go to interviews in lol my gf soon got rid of them. The last interview I went to I wore my black docs which look smart anyway. I do wear womens jeans and trousers because mens don't hang on me right although I would like to wear them. I prefere mens sports wear but that usually fits me well.I have some rings which could be for either gender.
It's strange I like tie dye stuff and when I wear it I don't feel as butch although It doesn't make me feel feminine either strange lol!! I wear my tie dye to go to my parents to please them as in their eyes it gives me a slightly more femme look.
I've never since I can remember liked make up and had many battles with my mother about that lol. So I don't do make up. I used to wear a little for interviews and the like but I stopped doin that last year. Very sadly I keep a bra thats just to go to my parents as well I hate the thing I never liked them and never felt right in them. When I go out now I prefere to wear a shirt and as close as I can get to guys jeans or dressy looking trousers. I'd even wear a tie if I felt the occasion called for it. Well thats about it I think

Uh... underwear... Though the manly substitutes exist. None had sentimental value, just need them.

Yes I held on to these two things: underwear style and jewerly as well.

I guess I'm more of a metrosexual.

Nothing...... Never had many things girly, although I had a present from someone a while ago and it was a makeup set, arghhhhhhhhhhhhh, which I gave to me Mam, lol. But nope, I dont really have anything 'girly' at all.
