I originally posted this on the radio 1 thread, but feel it will probably get lost there, and probably deserves a separate discussion
I think in our quest for equal fashion freedom, passing shouldn't be such a big deal, as that is really just affirming that female clothing styles are only meant for females. Perhaps we need more of a "I'm a man in a dress and proud of it" attitude to change things? After all, women can walk around freely in trousers without having to attach a moustache.
I'm not saying that this would suit all, but it would certainly make it easier for those who maintain a masculine persona.
Just my two cents (or British pence!)...
