Do you girls still wear slips? I know a great many skirts come fully lined these days but I don't feel properly dressed unless I'm wearing a full slip.

My answer lies in my name. I LOVE slips, especially the lacy nylon ones. Like you, I don't feel completely dressed unless I'm wearing a slip. Right now, I have my favorite white slip on under my blue nightie. I love the feeling of layered nylon.

If I'm wearing a skirt or dress, which is about 90%of the time, I'm wearing a slip. The only exception is with two of my skirts which are VERY short. No, I don't wear either of them out in public. I wouldn't dare.

Slips are wonderful...they make anything you wear feel better on. I have 4 or so, one vintage one that Emily Ann sent me. Its really sweet, I just love it!!

Yes, I started out wearing my mom's slips when I was a kid(bad, I know). My favorite lingerie item. I have quite a few and wear them under my dresses & skirts when the weather is cool. I have one "vintage" long black slip that I wear as a dressing gown on occasion. I think I have 6 full slips and 2 half slips.

I love petticoats & half-slips. I often wear a petticoat as a nightie.

I had a lovely white nylon half-slip with lace embroidery that my sister gave me. I washed it in Napisan* to revive the original whiteness. This worked (to an extent) without harming the fabric, except the Napisan perished the elastic in the waistband, causing it to become totally brittle & crumbly, making the slip totally unwearable. :(

*For those who don't know about Napisan, it's an amazing Aussie laundry product for babies' nappies (diapers). It "cleans, whitens, brightens, sanitizes, deodorizes, [it's] safe on colors and antibacterial". It's perfectly safe to use on cotton, not so good on rubber...

I collect slips , and have quite a few full slips , I find slips to warm for summer
wearing but fall and winter I love them . I feel lucky when I was growing up
most girls wore them , I still have fond memorys of making out with a girl

OK where do you find pink ones? Other than petticoats, all I can find in slips are white, black, and neutral (off white).

I love slips.
I always wear either a half or a full slip.
In fact I was just at JC Penneyand they have some gorgeous slips on sale.
I think they were Van Rey or something like that.
I have to go back and buy one.
Usually, most stores just carry the basic black or white.
Perhaps JC Penney is starting the trend, which would be a welcome sight:>)

I adore wearing half slips under my skirts. I love ones that are just longer than the skirt I have on so that the lace hem can be seen below the skirt hem. I started dressing years ago with bras and slips and they still hold a major atraction for me....

I am a slip lover too, it says something to me about how a women dresses. I adore how women can dress conservative yet have a beautiful, and sexy under garments. Of course if the skirt or dress show through a slip is a must.

I think slips are sensual. I always wear a full slip with a dress and usually with a skirt depending on the top. Sometimes a cami is prettier so then I just wear a half slip. I love the feel of nylon on my hose.

Slips are sooooo nice. One of the first things I used when I was exploring my CD side of me. I dated a woman a few years back that mentioned to me at one time that women today seldom wear slips much any more. She herself didn't wear a slip of any kind. Her own opinion on slips was "old ladies wear slips I dont".
Slips don't come in a variety of colors as they use to either. Mostly due to the women of today only demanding certain colors like black, white, and neutral or beige colors. Slips are not at all very popular today either, because women do not wear them as often due to the dresses and skirts, blouses having a lining in them, or the fabric might be of a slight density in thickness, or alternative lingerie items such as camisoles. If there isn't much of a demand for the slips or a variety of colors of the slips the manufactures will not expand the colors much either. I sure do miss the days when you might get a glimpse of a woman walking down the street and you see just a hint of a slip under her dress, or even if she sat and the slip poked out just a little from under her dress. <sigh> :straightface:

I dress extremely conservative, so i always wear slips even if the skirt or dress is lined. And most of mine are so. I love classic fullslips, with lace and covered shoulders. I love also satin half slips, without slits.

My favorite slip is an old peach one I bought at a used clothing store 20 years ago as I first started to "acquire" again - probably a 70's traditional style with lust the right amount of lace. Somehow it remains in good shape and fits perfectly. Joni
