View Full Version : Misadventures in crossdressing "Breastform adhesive"

With all three of my children in school now, I have a few hours in the morning after I drop them off at school to dress and practice my make-up application before my infirm mother-in-law who lives with us wakes up.

I've done my face everymornig for the last week, and with the constant practice, I'm seeing definite improvement in my look. Yesterday I decided in addition to doing my face, I was going to try out the breast form adhesive that I purchased a while back but had not had the opportunity to apply yet.

I gave myself a good close shave, cleansed and moisturised my face, then sat down to read the adhesive instructions one more time while I enjoyed a cup of Blue Mountain java and a Marlboro light 100 while my face recovered from the scraping.

Instructions seemed pretty straight forward.
1 shake well before using
2 apply cement to both surfaces to be joined
3 allow cement to set up 4 to 5 minutes before joining
4 join surfaces and hold for 2 minutes to insure tight bond
5 to remove apply uni-solve adhesive remover

No problem, I can do this! I'm thinking with visions of going bra-less dancing in my head.

Step one I shake the snot out of the bottle of adhesive
Step two I paint an even coat of the adhesive on both of my forms then on my chest
After waiting the required amount of time in step three I proceed to Step four and put them in place held them for 3 minutes then while still holding them I put on my bra.

WOOT attached forms! They feel GREAT! Time for makeup!

While applying foundation and concealer, I start to feel a bit of discomfort from a spot on the right side of my chest. The discomfort quite rapidly progressed form discomfort to PAIN. By the time I had my foundation finished, I wanted the forms off NOW. Seems that I had a tiny little pimple on my chest and the attached form was pulling the skin causing a great deal of pain(on the positive side the pimple had been stubbornly refusing to form a head for over a week and with the application of the attached forms it came to a head RFN)

I used the adhesive remover to detach the forms from my skin then attempted to clean the sticky, nasty, got on everything glue.

Ended up taking me over an hour and the entire bottle of remover to get the adhesive residue off of my chest (and upper arms, armpit, stomach, etc it got EVERYWHERE) and forms.
My body is mostly free of the residue now over 24 hours later, but the forms are still a mess. I don't know if I will ever be able to get all of it off.

The adhesive I used was Smith & Nephew's "Skin-Bond" and while attaching the forms seamed like a great idea, in practice it was lacking.

Anyone out there that uses forms have ever have any better luck with an adhesive? Think the problems I ran had were due to the product or just my incompetence?

Doomed to forever wear a bra,
Julie

No, not doomed forever. Just until you can get some proper adhesive.

Try The Breast Form Store. They carry it.

There are other brands. Try Google.

The name "Hollister Medical Adhesive" is lurking around in my brain. Google Hollister and see what comes up.

The stuff is out there. Ya just have to find it.

Lovies,

I previously purchased some adhesive from the Glamour Boutique, in Auburn, Mass. You might check their website, to see if they still carry something.

Good luck, hun.

Hugs.

I use Smith and Bond all the time and have worn the forms for up to 5 days at a time with no ill effects other than some redness when I wear them for an extented period of time.

However as you probably also noticed on the label is a warning, in bold: CAUTION: This Product Contains Dry Natural Rubber Latex Which May Cause Allergic Reaction.

Seems to me you might have a latex allergy.....

Sorry..... must have been very painful!

Julie,

I have used the same adhesive as you used for years and never had that problem. Not sure why you had the reaction, but to get the adhesive off your forms, I use a product called "Detachol" by Ferndale Labs. I get it through my local Walgreens. I love it because it works and doesn't smell terrible. Good luck!

I've had some good luck with 3M Super 77 spray adheisive. But you should be careful about wearing them for days with that stuff. I wore my forms for like 3 or 4 days using that and when I finally took the forms off I had some redness the lasted for a couple of days.

Hi Everyone:

A while back someone recommended a stoma adhesive for ostomy patients called NuHope Medical Adhesive. I ordered a bottle and the remover from the supplier in Atlanta and I think it works quite well.

The NuHope Brand is applied with a dauber, and you apply a thin coat to the forms. I DID NOT apply anything to my chest and it holds very well indeed. However I did get some residue on my chest.

Be very careful not to shave just before putting any of the adhesives on. To avoid a reaction, I would give it a day or two after shaving before I put anything on my chest. After shaving you will have microscopic cuts and nicks and a lot of pores are probably opened up. These abrasions can be the cause of things leaching into the skin and irritating.

Anyway, The forms came off just fine with this adhesive with no damage. However, The cleanup always seems to be difficult with any of these latex products. My forms ended up clean but you have to work at it. I finished up with Goo-Gone and that seems to remove the last little bit of residue. For the main cleaning I used the manufacturer's solvent, just finished with the Goo-Gone. I think that this will stretch my supplies of solvent.

My final conclusions......pretty good product, a lot cheaper than most, controllable on the application, and it holds very well.

Peace and Love, Joanie

Thanks for all your comments ladies. To clarify just a bit, I didn't have a "reaction" to the adhesive, what I think happened was the weight of the forms ( I am a big girl so I need large breasts :D ) pulled on a blemish on my skin. Where the pimple was was the only place that was painful.

What really "irritated" me was trying to remove all the latex from my body. I guess the clean-up is worth it if you are planning on wearing the forms for more than an hour or so.

Joanie, if you don't mind me asking, where in FL are you? I'm in Broward county.

Hey Julie, Long time no talk.

Sorry but had to laugh about the glue every where part. Sounded like a mess.
I can't use any glues cause after about 6 hours I itch under my forms bad. Then when I take them off I have water blisters there in spots. Talk about painful! So I have to stay away from adhesives due to a reaction.

Now I am buying pockets for my bras and going to have them sewn in to all of my bras.

BTW...Just keep working of the glue it will come off but it takes time and work.

Keep in touch, Beth
