This morning GG and I went to Macy's to do some shopping for me. I went fully dressed up en femme and enjoyed it so much. In front of the store, we encounter this labor demonstration. Dont shop at Macy's - they shout at us. Are they out of their mind? This is a CD on her first time out. Not even an earthquake or the bird ful is stopping this CD from going ou shopping!!!! I wave at the croud feeling like a VIP on the Oskar's night. Inside the store, the expected nod and smiles from the employees who spot me. How cute! I smile back and we shop. The men in the store don't even lift an eyebrow, I know - men are morons about noticing anything. some women notice me and smile. I have to pee and tell my SO. She's about to have a heart attack when an employee follow me into the rest room. Not to arrest me, no she just have to pee too. I sit down like a woman and do my thing. Cute! I think, while I sit and make the same noise as everyone else in there. I'm cool about it. Five minutes later, back in the store I have had enough. Overload of looks, walking on the high heels and just everything. I walk back to the car, and my SO finish her shopping. We drive home. Me, in a state of extacy having breached the first major obstacle. We come home, play cards and drink beer. What a perfect spring day!

Congrats on your successful outing! It'll get easier each time you do it. What's really cool is when you actually FORGET what you're wearing and just do what you went out for and stop paying attention to what those around you are doing. Then it becomes truly fun and a lot less nerve-wracking.

Have you planned your next outing yet? :)

Congrats! Lucky that you have someone to go with you. I have to try and gather the courage on my own and without having someone to tell me that I at least look passable, that is not going to happen anytime soon. So you'l have to do all of the shopping for us gurls who are still stuck at home . you go gurl!

Congrats on your outing! I can buy my own femme stuff (when I have enough courage), but never en-femme. You got lots of guts.

Go you! Every next outing will now be a piece of cake. Do something very fine for your SO, eh?

Oh yeh, skip Macy's next time - they are evil to their workers.

Thanks Sexy Sabrina
The thing is, I knew I didn't pass, but I really didn't care. I just had to do it for myself and also let my SO know that I was comfortable about being who I am. It was a great experience.

Wasn't that fun? See the boogie man didn't jump out and molest you. Just remember shopping can be addictive. And there is no 12 step program for it. Just sale days...BJ

It's always nice to hear when one more slipped passed the guards.

I was in my local Macy's today trying on shoes while in drab. This time not a look or waor from any of the other customers. The two SA's both laughed and commented that no old bitty ladies to twitter today as they did the last time.

Funny, you want people to support you and then you cross a picket line? The CDs in SF made a point of supporting those girls when they went on strike, and they have been good to us ever since. You could have found some other place to shop. Really.
