In that little box marked "comments to seller" put please ship discretly. That will take care of it for ya sister ;) But if it's a CD friendly seller they already have.

I generally ask them if they can ship discreetly before I bid, since I am paranoid like that. I have yet to bid on anything femme on ebay though.

Sorry hun, I know you are worried but that has to be the silliest question I have ever heard.

I've bought tons of stuff off of Ebay (not just clothes) and it's never been marked on the outside. My wife tends to get a bit curious though. She teases me "Wadja buy? Another skirt"? Half of the time it's parts for something or other.

Same here, usually it's a private seller or small business and is handwritten via the address but never have seen the contents on the box.

I always add, in the comment box, a request that they ship in a plain package with a "gender neutral" return address. I don't need anyone wondering what I'm getting from some unknown female in Utah. (for example)

Once, a couple of years ago, I got a package from a female sender that had huge lettering and little colored bows and butterflies all over the address lable. And this is someone who claimed to have experience dealing with the crossdressing community.

You might also consider getting a post office box for your on line purchases. You get a little more privacy, and you aren't posting your home address all over the internet with every purchase.

One more thing. If you buy something from outside the US to be delivered in the US, there will be a customs tag fixed to the package that will require a list of the contents. You may want to suggest that the sender write something simple, like "clothes", rather than "frilly, pink and lavender silk, lace panties and bra set".

Normally lingerie doesn't even arrive in a "box". It's usually packaged in a padded envelope.

If it's from a wholesale lingerie dealer, it could very well have the company name on the envelope along with the return address.

To be safe, yes, do ask for discretion in the remarks section.

Not exactly off topic, but this reminds me of a joke I read today:

A little old lady was mailing the treasured family bible to her grandson. The postal clerk asked if the package contained anything breakable.

The little old lady smiled and said: Only the Ten Commandments.

Not really, it can be embaressing when you get a bra in the mail, and theyve sent it in a post bag, rather than a post box, get some weird looks at the post office...

Are post bags see through in your country? I have received several items in "Priority Mail" envlopes that are really just a renforced paper. They get quite soft in the mail and I guess if you know what a bra feels like you might be able to guess what is inside. But really its none of their business.

Is sarcasm all the rage in your country too? It should go without saying they are not see-through, but since you intelligently bought it up...

We too have the re-enforced cardboard bag type, there is also a cheaper very tough, but soft, plastic. Now, if you only buy soft cup bras, softcup/underwire, this probably isnt a problem. However if you are like me, and have the breasts to wear contour/push up bras, they are quite recognisable even to the most dim whitted mail man (not attacking, just illustrating) he can figure out that one of the people he delivers mail to is irregualrly getting bras.
Now, most ebays will probably go the cheapest option (reguarding postage), it will depend on things such as how serious they are as ebayers, how much you pay for postage, etc, and as stated earlier, this can all be sorted through prior discussion with the seller.

Peace!

Personally, I found this thread enlightening. It answered a lot of my concerns. Thank you! :hugs:

I have bought many nice items on Ebay and only one time have they come in an obvious package that indicated what was in them. It was a pair of 5 inch stileto heels in there origanal shoebox. Clearly stated on the outside was size 12 and the description of the shoes with a picture of the shoes on the box.

I am guessing the mailman does not care. When you look at how much mail they deliver, the chances are they have seen much stranger, if they even look at anything other then the address.

I have bought lots of stuff on eBay, much of it from the USA, so it goes through Canadian Customs (which does little to speed up the process). Usually they just mark clothing or whatever. Sometimes if the package is large I have had to pick it up at the post office, and even when it was thigh high boots in their original box, size 12, I don't really think anybody cared. Could have been a gift for my cousin, right?

You are guessing right.

Usually you won't have a problem. People tend not to list contents on the outside. Occasionally you need to watch out for the name of the seller in the return address. One of my favorite sellers is Rose Desir Lingerie. I wouldn't want to have that delivered to me c/o the KofC lodge.

If in doubt, ask! Most sellers are pretty responsive.

whenever I have ordered (from the US) they put a general term on the customs slip, such as "Used clothing" or "Clothing". Although I am paranoid because I still live at home, and my mom is usually the one who is home when the mail comes. She goes over the package inspecting it, and any marking on it, then asks after "What was it? How much did it cost? Where is it from? Did you get it on Ebay?" and it goes on and on.

I think I'll need to get a PO box.

Being a mail carrier, I can tell you, the only time something like this is noticable, is when an obviously single guy is getting a lot of catalogs from Newport News, Lane Bryant, Roman's, etc... We see so many different boxes it is unreal. Most of the time, people ship in whatever box is available, so more often than not, what is on the outside of the box is probably not what is on the inside.

and why do we care what the mail man thinks anyway? Are we spooked that hes gonna scribble a little message on our package?

I have gotten most of my wardrobe of ebay. Never had a problem, except my wife is always saying you always get something for yourself never for me. I haven't gotten the courage to tell her that I wear more lingerie then she does.

We might do that(joking) Honestly, your mail carrier knows more about you than you think, and he or she doesn't care. When you have 700 to 1000 or more deliveries a day to contend with, we don't have time to worry about what 1 customer receives in the mail. Unless you live in a very small town where every one knows every one else, I would not be concerned with the mail carrier.

I'm really not, since I think I have seen him all of once. I am more afraid of my mom finding out what is in the package.
