Ok I'm sure it's in here somewhere but I can't find it. Does anyone know a good way to break in new shoes? I so need to break in my new pointed toe flats. They're a little tight in the toe still and I wondered if maybe there's a good way to break them in other than wearing them, since I can't do that 24-7. Or if the thread already exists point me there. Thanks

...but that only makes me want another pair.
Hey - try wearing thick socks to stretch them out, or take them to
the village cobbler (NOT the peach cobbler) for a professional
"stretching."
Pointy flats rock!

You might try using a the end of a broom stick to mimic your toe and try and stretch them out that way or get some shoe trees and let them sit a few days.
Lindsey, Are the shoes leather? If so, they will stretch to a certain extent. As one said, put on a pair of socks with them and walk aroung the house for a few hours. If the shoes are vinyl or patent, forget it. They will not stretch.

I don't buy shoes anymore if the toes are tight with the hope of stretching them. It just doesn't work.
I've tried heat with the man-made stuff and other tricks with leather.
Best bet is to get proper fitting shoes up front.

The only way I know how to break a new pair in is to wear them. I recently bought a new pair of heels while shopping recently and decided to wear them for the rest of the day while I was shopping. Guess what? I had a blister on my foot when I got home. Oh well, it went away and now there are no more problems with that pair of heels.

Lindsay,I bought some 2 way shoe stretchers, and I use a leather cream called Lexol on leather shoes to stretch them.I have several pointy flats and pointy heels, yup I had to stretch some of them.Wearing them with socks works, just use Lexol on them first,it softens and preserves the leather, hope I was some help.

If no ones home, wear them around the house. I've stretched manmade materials, by putting them in the oven a while, then quickly putting them on for a while. It goes without saying, you don't want them too hot.

I dunno, Hon. I've found that either they fit or they don't. The only "breaking" to be done is with your feet to adapt them to the shoes. A curious thing I've found is that I wear a size 9 in both men's and women's shoes which my girl friends tell me is impossible. Got weird feet I guess. They must automatically swell when I'm Richard. :heehee: Ericka Kay
