I took a vacation day last Thursday as I haven't been able to dress since mid-June. After my wife went to work, I got dressed at home in a pink shirt, boot-cut low rise jeans and 2.5" sandals. Put everything on but my wig and earrings and drove to the salon for makeup. I was running late so had to drive all the way down my street (I live at the very end) but fortunately no one was outside at 9:30 AM. Put my wig and earrings on a couple blocks away and was off.
The stylist did my makeup...and while she was working on me, an older female came in for her appointment. She didn't say a word.
Off to the mall!! Only got to do 3 stores (all of which I am out to) as I was so busy in each.....bought 2 pair of shoes at Nine West , where the SA told me she loved my hair. Several GGs came in while I was there and I even struck up a converstion with one. No one said anything or even looked twice.
At The Limited, I tried on a bunch of clothes, and bought several items on sale. It was so much fun being enfemme in the dressing room, and even being by the 3-way mirror with other women, who did not seem disturbed by my presence. But the highlight was when I was all done...as I was leaving, a GG was talking in an open booth door with an SA....she was in her bra! And she didn't even mind that I was there. I guess I was passing okay. The SAs there are all so nice to me, whether I am in drab or dressed. I got such a nice greeting there when I walked in. Of course, they do know that I am always ready to buy!
Finally, the Clinique counter at Lord & Taylor. My stylist told me to buy a paler shade of blush and I wanted to get an eyeliner. The Clinique person I am out to was not there. but the lady on duty could not have been nicer, even applying the new shade of blush to my cheeks.
I had so much fun, I plan to take another day off in October and visit the stores I missed.....Express (one of my favs), and 2 I have never shopped in..Arden B. and Cache. Maybe I'll do Macy's and Ann Taylor, too.
I had to go back in drab after changing back into guy mode at the salon...I decided to buy one more item at The Limited ....and I saw the Clinique girl who knows me. She greeted me with a warm smile and I told her I was sorry I missed her dressed but I would be in again. She was pleased to hear that.
I think I came through the day okay, but I think a security guard clocked me when I was walking through the mall when I was done shopping. I just smiled and kept on walking, not even turning my head to look back.
