View Full Version : Briefs v.s. panties

I've never worn panties a significant amount before, but recently I've been doing it quite a bit.

Speaking strictly in terms of comfort, I think I prefer briefs over panties. Briefs have an elastic waistband that keeps them firmly in place, while panties tend to wiggle around. (Remember the phrase "Don't get your panties in a wad"? There isn't a "Don't get your briefs in a wad".) I recall F2Ms in the F2M forum complaining about this too.

Thoughts? Anyone have suggestions for other feminine underwear choices that may be more comfortable?

Jennifer - I use Stafford brand mens' bikini briefs (I get mine at J.C. Penney).

I think they look and feel a lot like womens' panties, but with some extra room in the front to the "boys" (get the thin ones - they have some that are more of the thickness of corderoy (sp?), but I would not get those again).

My wife thinks I may go back to "tighty-whities" or boxer-briefs when the weather turns cold (but I don't plan on it).

I like the fit and comfort of panties, they really do fit me better than briefs. And I think the material is a huge difference. My men's briefs would not maintain their shape after several washings and gradually became too big and loose. My panties do not seem to have that problem.

I also like thongs and g-strings (never thought I would, lol). Panties and thongs are WAY Better than briefs/boxers.

Depends on the panties we're talking about, of course, but I find that a nice pair of panties is just as comfy and practical or more so than a pair of men's briefs. I actually went down to the health club at my hotel last night and worked out in a pair of Hanes Her Way briefs (white cotton, naturally). Support was just fine, and because they were full briefs, they were plenty roomy (nice full coverage on the ol' tush). To me, white cotton panties are the most basic and functional underwear--just simple underpants with two holes for your legs. And 'basic and functional' is a good masculine trait, right? :D

I find that my panties are much more comfortable than the y-fronts I use to wear. I find that there is ample room, I wear the full cut panty.....and yes you can get panties in cotton with the same elastic waist as men's briefs...Vanity Fair makes them for one.

Buy the right size. Tried briefs for a couple of days(very long story) and what a relief to get back into panties. There are many conversion charts available. Love and xxxxx, Lily

Panties are much more comfortable. Nylon or cotton in hi-cut or full brief. Haven't worn or owned mens briefs for at least 10 years.

I had problems with several pairs of panties, "supporting me". Finally, I bought some microfiber tanga cut panties and they are all I wear today, I have not put on male underwear in several months now.

worn em all my life and luv them! Recently, have been having them made on ebay...wider crotch with double nylon for silkiness and brief style for fit *or hiphuggers*...i don't like thongs because i enjoy the nylon encasing my hips and rear and feel definately more feminine with lacy panties then just plain ones!

I love wearing panties and wear them whenever I can, whether in drab or en femme. Getting the right size is sometimes a problem because there is so much size variation in different styles. Nonetheless, I'm a panty-girl all the way.

I think I might have one pair of male breifs somewhere in the back of my underwear drawer. I have found that some brands and styles just don't seem to "hold me" enough, well, duh ...they weren't designed to "hold" anything just cover "it" .
I have however found that for me, at least, the Bali Skimp Skamp work about as well as anything. When I go to the gym I wear a pair of the Bali control briefs and "everything" stays in place. When running on the treadmill at 6 mph and "something" starts to go flop flop, it gets really uncomfortable really quick.
A side benefit of the control briefs is that I can sucessfully do the "stuff and tuck" thing, which I'm gonna have to learn if I want to be able to wear my new pencil skirt without being too revealing.

Perhaps this is another UK English Vs US English difference. I wear panties which ARE briefs, but women's briefs. That is they have no fly in the front, have elastics round the waist and eg openings, and a double gusset (lined crotch). I prefer the UK term "knickers" for my underwear. I have not worn male underpants for 38 years.

I'm with you Jennie, love the microfiber tanga cut panties for everyday use, but when dressed the sexier the panty the better.

At the risk of being glib, gals, it doesn't make much difference to me. It's only underwear in my opinion. Can't use a urinal with panties though. I've worn BVD's under my dresses before and of course panties under my guy clothes. I'm Ericka regardless of what I'm wearing, underwear notwithstanding. Ericka Kay

I'll take panties over mens underpants anytime, if you buy the right style and size there is nothing better to wear. Down with mens underpants I say, ban them all together.

I generally wear hipster boyleg underwear,

Thats not to say I dont mind bikini cut or g strings, its just boy legs are so comforable and give a great shape. As usual I will praise Bonds from australia, they really are the leaders in comfortable underwear. Anyone from Aus could confirm this!!!

panties, bikini, pink, one each type.

Never again will I allow tighty whities touch my privates! I hate mens "underwear." But give me a sexy pair of bikini panties, a size smaller is preferred, and I am loving life!!:D

Of course there are different styles and some fit different body shapes better than others, but getting the right size really makes a difference. We all have our favorites and the less male undies the better!

Panties for me every time.
Preference - 1950s style tricot with elastic waist and legs.
Get them one size too large and you will get the effects you want -
- that lovely feeling of the leg elastic reminding you they are there.
- that lovely feeling rubbing gently at the front to remind you that other things are still there too.

Love the Breezies brand, fit great and ohh so comfortable. Pricey at QVC, but you can find them for a song at ebay. Their bras are great too...

Nylon bikinis for every day wear and thongs and control briefs for the right underpinning. It is important to always wear the proper panty with the out fit you chose, nothing worse than VPL. And remember that white panties under your white shorts or capris looks real tacky.

I have just recently started to wear panties full time. I like high cut briefs in microfiber, also bikinis. I find that thongs are not comfy for work but are great for feeling sexy. The microfiber feels natural and smooth under my slacks.

Not sure what you are calling panties and what you are calling briefs. If you are refering to anything other than women's briefs as panties then I will say I like all of them. Both panties and briefs as long as they are nylon, satin, or silk. If you are calling briefs the mens underwear then I say no to briefs. Panties are very comfortable with the right style and size.

Rachael

I definitely prefer panties. If you get the right size they are much more comfortable and don't leave ugly red marks around the waist. They are usually a llot lighter and give a more sensuous feel. French knickers on the other hand are very uncomfortable as they definitely don'y consider male anatomy.

I'm a 24/7 panty girl. Have some men's uw but couldn't bring myself to wear them if I tried - no appeal - maybe if they were pink and made of nylon. Nope doesn't work. If they are made for men the're mens if they are made for women I want them!!! Last panty count was exceeding 75 pair - all kinds
and every one a joy to wear!
