Okay, now that the title has your attention, I'd like to know how many of you have mastered the art of dressing down but still being feminine. Trade secrets would be greatly appreciated.

I travel with my iPod, which is packed with stuff like Judy Collins, Britney Spears and Peggy Lee. Always earrings. Purse! And don't forget moisturizer in the morning.

Look at how the GG's are dressed in the grocery store, and dress that way. You will avoud most attention. Cos most women dress frompy for the grocery store...BJ

I am somewhat feminine all the time independent of clothes.
I admit, that others might not immediately become aware of it, but it's hard to look feminine if you just jump into some pants and a T-shirt like a lot of GGs do. I don't have the advantage of having a feminine body.

Most of the regulars here know that I "dress down" sometimes when I become Eric. I get made up as Ericka and then tone everything down so I can cross dress as Eric. I make it look just obvious enough to show that I'm a woman attempting to look like a man. Why do I do this? For fun really but also because I hate stereotyping and I wanted to see what it was like to dress that way like our F T M brothers and see what kind of reactions I get. I've gotten a wide range of reactions, so I have a little idea of the unique problems they face. Ericka Kay

Look when the GG's are going to a event thats important they dress up, thats how I treat my getting dressed, a few hours a week I might as well do my best, now if I was able to be a girl as soon as I got home from work every day I think it would be a t-shirt and sweats over my girlie stuff.

Beside wearing the mandatory, bra, panties and thigh high stockings, I also wear jeans from Fashion Bug size 14P with no decoration on the back pocket, some ladies oxfords or cross treks from Payless, size 10W and not that cooler weather is here, a long sleeve "T" from Lane Bryant. under a male shirt. Plus carry a "man bag/ purse". Minimal makeup, foundation, mascara in light brown, and light pinl lippy.

Zero questions so far after three months at this.

Guess we all have out own opinion of dressing down..to be it means casual...typically a plain skirt or capris (gauchos) and a plain top, flats or low heels. NO JEANS, unless your changing the oil in your car!! Hehe. You can still dress fem, just not over the top. If dressing down means dressing like a guy, why dress at all??

Love KarrenOh, I do "dress down" as Ericka, Karren but just wanted to bring out that side point. The point is, I guess, that no matter if you are casual or dressed to the "nines" the objective is to be comfortable. Don't worry, I'm secure in my femme identity. I just like to experiment once in a while to find out my comfort level either way. Ericka Kay

Define dress down.

I pretty much only wear jeans and I think I have a fem look about me. It is all in the presentation. My guy jeans have a much different shape and cut than my girl jeans. I try to do a casual top as well, sometimes a T-shirt, but it too has a fem cut.

I don't understand why you feel this is dressing like a guy?

Down here in Florida, around the house I dress in short shorts, a femme top, and sandals or similar type women's casual shoes. Since I'm not technically "out", I don't wear femme tops or women's shoes out, but I do wear my short shorts as I still like to show off my legs...my best femme feature.:battingeyelashes:

Well cut them any way you want (perferably UP into rags). Hehe, they are still jeans and hey that may be ok with you and 90% of the GG's out there.... But I'll decline thank you!! Denim is good for coal mining, farming, changing the oil on the car and soping up spills on the garage floor. :D......In my opinion!

At this point I can usually manage to look ok in casual fem clothes. What I cannot do is take the makeup down to "gg casual". And while I occasionally can get away with putting my hair up in a ponytail, it looks much better down. So even if I am in a t-shirt and a denim mini, I will look a little more "composed" than a gg who just threw on the same outfit to run to the store.
