Stay safe... If you get a chance look at the posting I made about going out in the daylight the first time. Once you get your conference up, you might want to try a drive around the block.

Stay safe Officegirl, I just went out for my second outing today, driving to my therapist an hour from here. Was a bit nervous of the car breaking down, but other than that, I had the nerve to walk our dog in theparking lot before the session. Loved all of it. Any day in a skirt is a good day!!!!
love and good luck for tonight

I will never forget my first time out. I was friends with a gay couple, and we went out to an Olive Garden for lunch. I was really nervous and excited, and despite my best efforts did not look my best! (See the avatar, it was made that day!) But being in the company of supportive friends was the grease that made the wheels turn easily. Two young girls a few booths away were overheard saying "I think those two are guys". But we ignored that remark, and it didn't detract from the joy of being out. One of my friends is a drag queen, and she was dressed too. Now I go out a lot, and dress a little better ~ read tarty ~ and am perfectly relaxed in all situations. I even marched in the gay pride parade dressed, had a lovely huge white straw hat and a more conservative outfit. Had breakfast in the William Penn Hotel with girlfriend Vinca DaVine, who marched with me in the parade. So I say go for it, it gets easier with practice and experience.
