I am wondering what the traditional school girl undies are( bra and panties) and what color? I am wanting to know to complete my school girl outfit with the proper panties, I have both a plaid and a black skirt, and a great little plaid dress. I just need to find an aproprate shirt, white or ??????

Thanks

Plain old white cotton panties. They sometimes call them Granny Panties.

White for the bra, blouse, and panties (briefs of course), is always proper, unless you're wearing bloomers as well in the UK, which are usually black. I prefer flowers on my mostly white panties and I add a cotton vest to cover the bra, but that is a personal choice. Plain white panties would be more traditional.

Don’t forget the white knee socks, the Mary Janes, and your lunchbox! And don't be late for school. The nuns have a thing for giving out spankings.;)

Here in the UK growing up in the 60's and 70's the standard underwear dress for school girls was bottle green or blue knickers and a plain white bra. I understand that the knickers were still being worn right up to the 90's.

They can in either cotton or nylon and there was also a version for PE.

Sometimes the girl did PE in just their knickers other times they worn shorts or a netball skirt.

If you do a google seach for bottle green knickers there appears to be no end of places selling them and school uniforms.

We even have a place in London called School Disco's and everyone goes their dressed as school girla and boys. With the occassional crossdressing going on.

This topic is dear to my heart as I first wore a pair of schoolgirls knickers (my big sister's) when I was 12 and have worn this type of female underpants ever since. They are still available although not worn so often in State run Schools , but in many Schools in the Private Fee paying sector which still have a School Uniform.

They are made of the same type of cotton, cotton interlock, as tee-shirts etc such as "Fruit of the Loom" are made from , and come in colours such as Navy-Blue, Bottle Green, Brown, Maroon, Grey, Royal Blue, Black and plain White.

Here is an example of the type of knickers I mean

C'mon, now. How does ANYONE really know what schoolgirls wore under those uniforms? Don't tell me you wore them yourself.:p Ericka Kay

Yes I DID wear them myself! Plain white or navy blue cotton knickers as worn by my sister Anne in the mid 1960s to early 1970s. I still wear this type of knickers these days as well as other types of panties. Most of the other girls at my school wore similar knickers, although some wore white pairs with floral patterns or pink panties, the offical uniform required plain white or navy blue cotton full briefs.

I can speak with authority on the subject of what New Zealand high school girls wore in the 1950s.
My wife and I started going together at school late in the 5th form in 1952 and we had 2 more years at school together. If we were in the same class we sat together and it became the accepted thing to do.
Anyway - starting from the outside - in the winter:
- raincoat, felt hat and scarf, all navy
- school blazer, navy
- gloves, knitted woollen, navy
- pleated gym-frock, black
- school tie, striped, navy & gold
- blouse, white
- singlet, white
- bloomers, (elastic around the top and legs), navy
- bra, plain cotton, white
- suspender belt, plaincotton, white
- stockings, black woollen
- shoes, black lace-up
In the summer - no singlet, and white sockettes replaced the long stockings and suspender belt.

My wife, still my best mate, has helped me with this and we have been reminiscing about the good times we had exploring how quickly we could get all these clothes off and back on again.

Lots of love from New Zealand

I'm sure some naughty 1980s teen girls went commando,weraing thick,'woolly' black tights with nothing underneath-that's how I'd go to a party!:2c: :p

Schoolgirl nights are awesome.

I wore plain white low cut briefs with my outfit.

I imagine today's schoolgirls would get away with thick, high denier tights worn comando(i.e no knickers)-that's how I'd dress up! (lol) Ciao!

I think you've got to go with white cotton briefs...they'd be hard to find, but Carter's Spanky Pants would be nice--sturdy cotton, little ruffles around the legs, and a double seat panel for naughty little girls who misbehave and get spanked. :D I actually used to wear these; I had, er, borrowed a pair or two from my cousins and the girl across the street when I was 12 or 13. I even remember wearing them to school under my clothes (I can't believe I ever took that kind of risk). I think they were discontinued sometime in the early '90s or so. (Anyone else remember these?)

These sound similar to the "Montfort" cotton school knickers worn in my days and equivalents are still available . These were full briefs similar to the citure I posted in appearance and came in all the usual "Regulation" colours and plain white. These had the double gusset extended up to the waistband at the back making the famous "Montfort" double back panel which made these knickers so comfortable to wear and which kept the small of the back warm. Some other UK manufacturers copied this design, Puritex and Wolsey being two. Cherub did this style but I remember them for knickers which had an ordinary double gusset but which was shaped in a large almost semi-circle in the seat of the knickers where it was joined to the back of the garment. These too were comfortable and a pleasure to wear and I have got equivalents which I still wear as there are still some suppliers although these knickers cannot be bought in most shops these days but can be obtained over the Internet or by mail order.

Days of the week ones, of course. Makes getting dressed educational as you learn the order of the week.

You can still get those in girls' sizes, though not in the Girls Plus sizes that I can wear...why someone doesn't make these for women just for the humor involved, I don't know. (Maybe they do.)
