When dressing I usually prefer the 50's style of fetish feminism. However, many people seem to enjoy dressing in female drab, ie, jeans, cotton panties and the rest of the outfit that for all practical purposes that now resembles men's clothing. Even the talk of cotton sports bras!

I don't know, guess it's a different twist that is heading to "unisex" clothing. Sorry, but I gotta' have it the old fashioned way I guess. Head to toe, from the skin out nylon. Anybody else understand the "garters and straps and hooks and stuff" era?

There are no rules as to what clothing is acceptable and what isn't -- everyone dresses to their own taste.

I may often wear jeans when I go out, but, believe me, I don't look unisex.

Yeah, sure I understand. Been there, done that:D . That was a while back. Now that I'm more understanding of myself, and who I am, I dress as you put it, femme drab. Everybody has their own thing. I do get dressed up sometimes like last night, but for day to day and running errands, cleaning the house, ect., I feel more comfortable dressing as I do.
The bottom line is that we got to be comfortable and enjoy ourselves, so I have no problem with how anyone wants to present themselves. We're all different girlfriend and that's what makes life and this site so interesting! Love and xxxx, Lily

I think the more often a CD dresses, the more likely he/she will move beyond the "foo foo" style of dressing, into a more "utilitarian" one.

If you dress every day, as a GG does, you find very quickly that comfort is more important than style, especially regarding undergarments.

BTW, the "foo foo" reference was in no way a criticism, just my way of describing the opposit of dressing casual.

Ah Shiny, now you're showing either your age or your fetish. The only thing that sounds weird to me is "1950's and feminism" that sounds like an oxy moron to me :D

Hi and weather I throw on a skirt or jeans depends on how I feel that day. I've been known to wear a bra, panties, womens jeans and her shirt, and a little lipstick, without a wig. Go figure, Fugure that's the magazine I get from Lane Bryant....BJ

I surely do, and it was an extreme turn-on to glimpse the outline of the garters under the skirt or dress for me. So, much so that I had to have my own later on, and I just loved full-fashioned nylons. I've moved on to pantyhose, and stayups, but I'd return to that era anytime.

You got a problem with that fetish aspect, Angel?... I'm only kidding! :D:D:D

Dressing up is still a turn-on for me, but a very important part of my CDing is to be perceived by others as feminine, or at least not noticed as masculine. So when I dress, I have to go outside, even if it's only for a ten minute walk. This has been hard for some of my girlfriends to deal with.

I think Shiny meant to say "50's style of fetish femininity". :)

I still love wearing stockings & suspender belts, lacy satin petticoats, etc. I usually go for the "secretary" look. Fortunately, in my area lots of GGs do wear skirts to work. Sure lots wear pants suits, but there is still a good percentage wearing skirts & dresses. Sometimes, just going for a walk around here is like going to a fashion show, day or night.

I rarely wear female drab & never to go out, only at home. OTOH, in guy mode my clothing is fairly gender neutral. I suppose that if I were to dress en femme for a week or more I would not want to dress too sexy all the time. It would make me feel too sexy all the time, and at my age, that's no longer practical. :D

 Where did you get that outfit, Aunt Teresa. It's a classic! Complete with clutch bag and parasol, too. :) It must weigh half a ton!

Dear Shiny,

Yes, I certainly DO remember the 50s era of garter belts, gloves, and full skirts. I was there. Oh my, I guess I'm showing my age here.

Those clothes and styles represented a real turn on for me when I started dressing. Now, I am more concerned with comfort as I dress for much longer periods of time. I also find it essential to not stand out from the crowd. I want to blend in and be left alone. So jeans and a nice top are my usual fare. I also live in a small New England state where getting dressed up often means just putting on a clean T shirt.

So I do understand your love of those times. Been there, done that.

Lovies,
Stephenie
