Lately I have been really confused about who I am. So much to the point that I often wonder why I wasn't born female. I hate shopping for mens clothing but I do it anyways. Mens clothes are just sooo boring. The ladies have so much more variety. I walk by the ladies department and I think oh that looks cute. I like the soft fabrics and the styles. Why isn't strappy clothing associated with guys? I have a bra. I wear it for a combination of actually like wearing it and the fact I do need the support up there.

As for other things, I don't like a lot of male activities. I'm not into hunting, I'd rather be helping mom in the kitchen. I'm not really into modding cars, I don't like the idea of strip clubs.

I agree...guys clothes stink!! Give me a cute dress anyday..but since we have to live in both worlds.... my wife makes me buy male clothes!! Ewwwwww!! :)

And as far as activities I enjoy both male and female activities... But that's me....you can enjoy what ever you want..

So what's to be confused about? Just do what you like to do and wear what you want to wear!!! It's a free country...last time I checked! Hehe

ok I would say that if you wanna dressup like the girl you feel your suppose to be then do it. but on the other hand you wish to dress like so yet not let others know then do it in the privacy of your own home, also I would suggest doing so but its totally up to you, I would first sit your folks down and tell them how your feeling and what you feel you must do. and if they tell you they dont approve of it or dislike the idea then just tell them you wont act on these feeling and just do it when thier not home. but if your lucky enough to have had parents that will totally suppport you on your new life choice then congradulations you got it alot easier then alot of us do. For example I never told my parents and so when they caught me a couple of weeks ago well things didnt end well. but seriously tell them before things get ugly for you in the future.

Well you are just more into fem culture. Nothing wrong with you.
You're probelm is that society doesn't want to see man as a part of fem culture, they have to play the part as the observers.
So, I'd say you are completaly on the right track, but on one that society wants to deny.

Do what interests you. No reason to be confused about that.

Karen's right. Guy clothes stink! I buy them cause I can't go to work or visit friends in a skirt. But I really don't care what I buy. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, socks, all necessary but oh, so *yawn*!

I now have a much more full girl closet than guy's.

Hugs,

You sound like me, minus the bra. I don't like sports, hunting, or cars. I've never been very 'manly' if you will. Like you, I am so very bored with mens clothing, and would like more variety. I have noticed some rules for mens clothes, as I'm sure you have. ( the same strait cuts used for years, hard non-strech fabric, mostly dark colors, no embellishments etc... etc... ) If any womens clothing designer made clothes as boring as guys, they would be fired so fast their head would spin. Actually... is there such a thing as mens fashion designer? Whats with the shoes? Why don't we have open toed shoes?

Mens clothes just lack styles and variety. Ladies have dresses, skirts, skorts, jeans, capri's, shorts....and men basically just have jeans and shorts. I do not know why mens clothing aren't more stretchy or softer fabrics.

Although I should wear a bra, my constant back problems are caused by the fact that I don't, I've never liked them. I only ever found one really comfy one and I wore that to total fabric collapse. I'd rather wear a vest to be honest. Oh, and heretic that I am, I do rather like boys trainers... especially the Puma racing boots and Ferrari collection... And I have some boy's Formula One team shirts as they're really cool and the girl's team wear stuff is really pants! :)

Hi Jen, I totally agree, boy clothes are very boring, I had to buy some the other night. White dress shirt, black tie, black pants, yawn yawn yawn. I brought them home and told my wife how boring they are and she said well I don't think they are boring, yea right.

I too, agree with so many of you, I hate mens clothes, I hate shopping for them and I hate wearing them.
The whole problem can be simply summed up by saying 'mens clothes need to be more feminine' Just add a bit of shape and a bit of stretch and that would be far better.
I have started wearing unisex garments that I can share with the wife.

I just hate my boy clothes. Tomorrow I need to run some errands so I have to take off my pink nails and get into my crappy boy clothes. It really bothers me but I will be back as Sasha Anne as soon as I get home and will remain so for the rest of the week.

It can be so confusing. All our lives this rigid set of rules is drilled into us and we see what happens to those who deviate from those rules, how they are ridiculed and worse.
I'm a manly guy, but I also have a very feminine side. Men's clothes are a joke. Give me a nice skirt over a pair of trousers any day. Aside from the excitement I feel from wearing women's clothing, they are just more comfortable and practical.
I'm not gay (tried that) but I do have a very feminine side to me. I finally came to terms with it. My spouse is okay with it and even enjoys the female company. I figure that I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body.
Society drills these rigid rules into us, yet these rules are not only often contradictory, they simply don't fit all of us.
Anyway, this is all part of the journey, sorting these things out.
It is so nice to have found this forum where we can share our feelings and know that we are not alone.

Hey,

I don't think male clothing is that bad. In terms of smart work wear we have little choice granted but for casual wear I really like a lot of styles Next and Burtons have to offer. I guess female clothing tends to have pretty feeling about it, especially when you see it modelled on a rather nice looking lady.

Like people have mentioned their is no need to be confused, though when you have to do them jobs usually class to a female activity every day you do get fed up with doing the blasted things. Think I remember seeing a thread on it actually some about role reversal.

The only good thing about men clothing is that IT IS BORING that you don't have to go shopping because it out of style so I can put my shopping time to a better use and and shop for pantiesm dresses and other MORE important items.:2c:

Thank you all. I think we can all agree that the ladies have better clothes. Maybe, just maybe in the future it will not matter and everybody can dress how they want without a second thought from anyone or any funny looks. When I see a nicely dressed woman I am just like wow! Then I have all these feelings of wishing I could dress like that.

Gosh Jengurl, you sound just like me. I used to think the same sorts of thoughts all the time in the past. I would get all drepressed because I was a guy and was therefore expected to wear guy clothes. :( I was always buying and wearing the most feminine styles of men's clothes I could find. I expect you know what I'm talking about, young guys trendy clothes tend to have a kind of femme style sometimes.

Anyway, it wasn't until after I married my wife and became much less closeted that I began to realize that I could wear women's clothes in boy mode and get away with quite a lot. As far as not liking the same sorts of things as regular guys do, well....tell me about it. Apart from golf, (which obviously women play too) I'm not interested in any sports, or cars and trucks, hunting, fishing etc etc and I always, always wear a bra :D

Who says we have to do certain things as girls? I like hiking, Mt. climbing, come from a family of hunters, like some sports. Some may consider me a Tomboy but so what? I'm who I am, can't be anybody else. There are no "rules" of what we should like and how we should act no matter who we are. Ericka Kay

I have to agree. There's plenty of great men's clothing. The problem is that the men's clothing that actually has style to it is usually very expensive, and you have to be in good physical shape to wear it (although the same can be said for girl's clothes). Diesel, Ben Sherman, Lucky, Juicy, Monarcy, Grail, etc. all have really cool stuff, a lot of it very fitted and in softer/stretchy fabrics. I have multiple pairs of boy jeans from Lucky that are low rise, flared, with lyrca in them to give it some stretch. If your casual menswear ends at polo shirts and khakis, or worse Hanes t-shirts and Wal-Mart jeans, then yes, menswear sucks. Pick up a copy of GQ and look at the ads...there are some great looks out there for guys as well, it's just that most guys don't have the balls to pull it off.

That being said, if I had to choose one or the other, I'd choose girl's clothes in a heartbeat. Just more room for creativity. And the shoes are WAY better. :)
