How do you know what type of wig to buy? I may well buy one over the internet and so it's that much more important that I do my homework.
My concerns are the right length and style for my shape, as well as the right color. Also, I am on a budget and want to buy something that looks real but is affordable.
I'm sure this has been well researched and would appreciate any advice.
Thanks!

I found the best way is to try them on
But you could try one of those on-line makeovers
That way you'd have an idea on what style
and color may look good on you

karen i cant emphasize enough how much the wig matters!!!
i ended up going to a makeover specialist 200 miles from my home because she had 100's of wigs to try....
i tried over a dozen and kindof liked them all LOL!!! but the makeover woman kept hemming and hawing...i love the wig she picked and i never felt so femme as i did in this wig!!

well I can try to help as I have ordered a few alot has to d owith what you like, and then see if they have it in a color that might suit you, and you might need to check head sizes as most fit an average size head, so that is something you need to check, also the Human hair wigs are more expensive then synthetic which is the ones I usually get as they seem a little more affordable!! hope this helps, at least a little!!

Bite the bullet and go to a wig shop. Take you wife or girl friend with you if they will go. Other wise, the person in the wig store can give you advice. They want you satisfied...BJ

Guess I'm lucky in that respect. Almost anything looks good on me. You have to experiment with looks, styling, etc. If you are a "purist", I guess you have to try and match the wig color to your skin, etc. I'm not that fussy though and like a lot of different looks. Ericka Kay

As for me, I found a wig shop in my town, it is run by an older lady (GG). It took a bit of courage to go in, but when I did she greated me, and asked if she could help.
I picked out a few wigs, and asked if she would mind if I tried them on. Well let me tell you that she helped me put them on, and commited on how each of them looked on me.
Well long story short I bought 2 of them, and they were only about $80. dollars each. She even gave me to foam heads to keep them on, and cleans them for me, for a modist fee of $10.
As always Loves :hugs:

I got mine at a tranformation shop, trying them on was the way for me, and do I love my wig, once its on I am no longer a male, it does that to me, even more than my breast forms.

It depends what you want the wig for ,iF its for dressing in private get a cheap wig on line .But if you have plans on going out in public a cheap wig
will get you spotted in a minute , the same as a gg wearing a cheap wig
Im afraid if going out in public is in you plans you will have to go to a wig
shop and get a professional to fit you with a wig that matches you age and
skin color ,its cheaper than trial and error ordering on line
thats my humble opinon from years of going to cd events and out in public
