....in Gretna Green, Scotland. Despite what people might think its not at all feminine! Gets the attention of the women who want to check if you are following the scottish tradition and going commando! I had no hesitation in showing them (if they insisted of course!)

...don't get too hung up on the tartan. I wore the "flower of scotalnd" tartan which anyone can wear without any recrimination from the true scots.

I dont see anything "femmy" about a Kilt, even though it is not bifurcated. I fail to see why lotsa CDs have a fascination with them.
I see it as a MAN'S garment (I AM of Scotish heratage BTW) From a distance , it might look sorta like a skirt, but its not cut like a ladies skirt at all====The nearest alegory I can make is men's Trousers Vs Ladies "slacks"---They are cut and styled differently and the difference betweens the man's and womans garments are obvious.

(both about Welsh kilts)
So you are at least half entitled to wear a kilt.
Say, half a kilt? Ah, that'd be a "minikilt"!

I have a kilt and have worn it in public on occasion, including
to a Scottish wedding a couple of years ago, grand time had by all!
And I am mostly Scots-Irish and proud of it! :D

Can I wear my panties under a kilt?
Only if you want someone to see them.
I have never worn mine and not had it lifted to "check" Even back when I was in school my english teacher checked at one of our formals.
Those mini kilts are pretty cheap compared to the real thing

Hmm, I've looked at kilts and think they're too exspensive and look too manly.
Anyway, last week I bought this skirt from Targets for $25.00.

Absolutely nothing fem about a kilt, believe me.
I've had several through childhood to the one I have now in which I was married. No way would I wear my undies under it, some one in the US or England would be bound to take a look- It's happned all over the place!!

Ive got 4 kilts and wear them whenever I can. I agree about the undies thing. It would be embarrassing to have a young lady take a peek as has happened to me on many occassions and she finds a nice pair of panties underneath! I usually wear a pair of navy or dark green school knickers underneath. That seems to be accepted OK.
Its a male garment but gives a nice feeling to wear for me anyways.

If only wearing tights with kilts was the norm, you could just get away with a tartan skirt and no one would be the wiser lol

A kilt will never be mistaken for skirt
I would much prefer a tartan skirt

For some of us a kilt is as near as we can get to wearing a skirt out of doors so don't knock it!
Like Iain I wear navyblue, bottle green or brown cotton schoolgirls' knickers under my kilt, what the Scots called "lassies knickers".
