Or shoulder bag, which shoulder do you prefer, right or left? I'm curious if this depends on whether you're right handed or left handed. I'm right-handed and sling it over the right shoulder.

I think I, most of the time, sling it over my left shoulder and I am also right handed. Good question.

Do you ever find that you are insecure about hanging onto your purse. I do all the time.

I am right handed, but I carry my purse over my left shoulder, always have done it that way. I don't know why. From Leftwinger Katrina

Billijo, you need to get one of those purses with the built in pistol pouch. That way you can hit them with your purse and have some weight there, If it doesn't call for actually using the pistol. I'd like to get a purse like that for my little 32 auto, small, light, and handy.
I haven't gotten to the point where I'm carrying a purse yet, I have an insulated lunch bag with a sholder strap that has to suffice for now.
right handed, right sholder.

right handed, left shoulder...there's a reason for it....

If you're right handed, you reach to unlock doors with the right hand, or bend and reach for things...and the purse will slide down off the shoulder if it's on the right.

Right shoulder left hand............there's something wrong too: 1 in 7 males is left handed, perhaps some of the same side girls are blondes?]

Left shoulder because I'm right handed. Less chance it will slip off.

Right shoulder, right handed. Now it makes sense why my bag "slips off". I'm right handed. Unfortunately my bag is sorta rectangular in a verticle way and some of the outer compartment zippers are configured to be accessed from your left hand.
Oh gee guess I'll have to look for another style of bag. Off to do some shopping. :heehee:

hmm .. with my purse, i cross it over .. so the strap is on my right shoulder, but the purse hangs to my left side..
just easier to reach for things like this, and i hate it when it falls off my shoulder if i dont cross it over like this.

and im ambidextrous.. just to be a pest.

I agree with Vanya, I too carry left sholder and I'm right handed. Would like to see more GGs post their carry style, since they have many more years of experience.

I hang it off my left shoulder - just seems to not fall off like it does on the right shoulder.

I also carry a small bag in my left hand - seems more natural/ comfortable.

I am naturally a right handed person.

Hi All,

It's right/right for me. Years back I had a nasty fall off my ten speed, and fractured my left clavical, (collar bone). If I sling my purse over my left shoulder, it slides off. So right is right.

Right/left. Allows me to use my left hand freely. Always remember that since the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, that means that leftys are the only people in thier right mind!

I do the 'feminist' thing (sorry if that is misused terminology). My strap is from the left side over the head onto the right shoulder so it doesn't slip off at all. Right handed

I have the strap over the left shoulder, but it is diagonal across the chest so the bag is on the right side.

I write and draw with the left hand, but I will hold just about any hand tool, and the computer mouse, in my right. There are a lot of tools I can use almost ambidextrously.

So I said left/left, but I don't thinks it's exactly what you mean.

I'm right-handed, but I sling my purse over the left shoulder, but I tend to switch it to the right when I'm walking with a cigarette.

Left shoulder right handed. Uses to carry in my left hand till I went to mall girl watching almost all carry it slung over the left shoulder some right. I saw none carrying it in their hand. A article about purse snatchers said to sling it over your shoulder and wrap your arm around the straps.
