Sorry I could not think of a better title. I am not the most elaborate when comming to words. Anyway here is a question for all who wish to answer.

I have been reading various threads about different movies. So far I have only come across three that dealth with cross dressing in some fashion so if I am missing any feel free to add them. But out of the three that I have listed here I would appreciate your responces on what you thought about them, what you liked, what you did not like, plus any other information you feel like sharing. I look forward to hearing about it. The movie titles are:

Tootsie

Mrs. Doubfire

TransAmerica

Normal

Kinky Boots.

Ok sorry I can not count today it is monday and I had a brain freeze. But anyway hope to hear from you and have a nice day.

Victor/Victoria, an outstanding FtM film

Boys don't Cry, Oscar quality FtM film that put Hilary Swank on the map.

The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: Not strictly CDers, but a great road movie about Aussie drag queens (Hugo Weaving "Agent Smith" from The Matrix) is a principal.

To Wong Fu. . .: American adaptation of Priscilla, which I don't think is nearly as poignant.

Before Night Falls: An Oscar worthy heart wrenching look at the Cuban poet Reinaldo Arenas, in which Johnny Depp (my vote-getter for best male actor of the past 20 years) plays two roles, including a gay "Queen".

"Just Like a Woman" is another good one.
A cute FTM movie was "Just One of the Guys".

The Crying Game is worth the popcorn. I think Forrest Whitaker was in it.
There was also a Woody Allen film (years ago) where a guy dresses at someone elses house and is about to be caught. He escapes out a window and has to present as a woman around the neighborhood.

this is unfair, i worked around videos my whole life :p
ill let some slide so others can get them, oh and are we including anime/cartoos, there are tons there that most have never heard of

1st how can anyone miss
The Rocky Horror Picture Show - though i dont really care for it, it does have MeatLoaf in it.

Sorority Boys - a group of guy kicked out there dorm join a sorority

Mulan - yes a Disney cartoon that the lead (female) dresses to fight for her family's honor

that's enuff main stream and yes i can come up with maybe another 2 or 3 dozen, i'd also like to metion Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde - the old story of Dr Jakyll and Mr Hyde with a new gender changing twist.

anime/cartoons i should not these

how may time has bugs bunny dont it?

Genesis Climber Mospeada AKA Robotech - one of the main characters (male) is a female pop singer

My Me! Strawberry Eggs - as an anime fan i bought this for the crossdressing (sad me) a man goes for a job as a school where the head of the school is straight up sexist and believes no man should be aloud to teach. so what does he do. goes back as a women. they could have had all kinds of fun doing messed up things. but the kept it clean and very hart felt. really a story of sexual equality. well worth picking up if you like anime.

Macross 2 - they never do say it out right but Mash a side character is TG and very open about it.

3X3 eye - main lead character work at a bar that well is all female staff. or at least looks it.

your if you look at any good anime series worth it's box set there's an episode or 2 with crossdressing. looking form Evanglion, AH! My Goddess, Slayers, one of my faves is Godannar where a charater is singled out as TG after her dead because she was killed by something that only attacked the masculin mind. or even Cowboy Bebop - go straight to Jupiter Jazz where there is so much going on there that i cant even list it all. form crossdressing
to hormones.

My all time favorite trans-themed film is Ma Vie En Rose (My Life in Pink), about a young boy who dresses and identifies as a girl. I can't see how anyone could fail to have empathy and respect for transgendered people after seeing these issues through a child's eyes.

A few newer films that I loved were A Soldier's Girl, Beautiful Boxer, and Breakfast on Pluto. All of these center around characters who are transsexual, not crossdressers as such, but they are all wonderful films which touch on many experiences that are relevant to the whole tg community.

Just One of the Boys (from the 80's, I think). Also, All the Queen's Men - not a good movie, but my boy Eddie (Izzard) is so cute in it.

I want to see the movie "Switch". I heard about it and as I understand it, it's a kind of "Heaven Can Wait" theme, where a guy/womanizer dies.. but heaven goofed, and has to send him back.. but does so..as a woman. .. Now the 'woman' is played by a gg, but it did sound kind of interesting.

But I haven't been able to find a copy at the local video rental places.

One of my favorites is "The Triple Echo" . Very realistic movie about a WWII British army deserter who stays and lives as a woman with the widow of a pilot. One of the Seargents from the local base becomes infectuated with him/her and ask him/her to a dance at the base and the offered is accepted and so it goes????? Not the ending one expects.

I found his preparation for the dance rather erotic.

One from the 80's 'He's My Girl' it was pretty bad.
'Rocky Horror' should be required viewing for any crossdresser just for the song, 'I'm a Sweet Transvestite From Transylvania.'
All the Monty Python movies have men in women's roles.
I'm still waiting to see 'Hedwig, the Angry Inch.'

Well now there seems to be a lot of varied movies. Looks like I may be making a trip to the local video store to see what they have and have not. There is one movie that I saw and for the life of me I can not recall the title and I looked at this link and nothing seemed to stand out as the title. Maybe you girls can jiggle your memory banks and come up with the title of this movie.

All I can recall about the movie is this guy, I think he was a robber or something to that nature, in order to avoid the law, dresses as a woman, he met this woman I think on a train and he assumed her identity, he then went to this school for girls only, and taught there, a male benefactor gets smitten with him/her, wants to make a large donation to the school, the character thinks about taking the money and running, but in the end does whats right and comes clean with his backround and such. If I also recall I think it was done by Disney but this could be incorrect.

Any ideas ladies?

I don't think Tootsie and Mrs Doubtfire have anything to do with the topic of CDing, other than two guys wearing dresses for reasons that have nothing to do with a desire to wear femme gear.

If you want a movie that is about CDing and its issues then you should try "Just Like a Woman" as someone else has suggested.

There are definitely hundreds of movies that have some kind of female impersonation, from Some Like It Hot to Sorority Boys. The ones that this crossdresser has found the most entertaining are: Just One of the Girls (with Corey Haim), Nobody's Perfect (with Chad Lowe), Little Sister (with Jonathan Silverman), and He's My Girl (with T.K. Carter).

Of movies that actually deal with crossdressing or transgender issues in some way, I loved Just Like a Woman, Ma Vie en Rose, The Hot Chick (April's little brother is a crossdresser), A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story (a TV biopic), and TransAmerica.

Hi Francine, that's a fun movie, actually a remake of "Goodbye Charlie" from back in the 1960's.

Hi Marie,

I agree, a very interesting film, but a very difficult one to find. I managed to track it down on VHS tape, but it took me a few years to find it.

Some other rare ones that I've managed to find on VHS tape would be "Synapse", a sci-fi film involving a male's brain transplanted into a female body, and another is a Danny LaRue movie, "Operation Fred", a.k.a. "Our Miss Fred".

A movie that has a TG character, not the main theme of the movie, is "Terror Train", just issued on DVD in the last year or two, goofy, fun horror film starring a young Jamie Lee Curtis.

The best film i have seen is " PERSONAL SERVICE" with juile walters. Such a funny, brillaint film. Just like a woman" is also a good one. I hate the bit in it, were the main guy, adrain, gets pulled over by the police while dressed up after night out. The way they treat him is so bad. up sets me. My mate emma loves personal service. the bit where juile and the other main actress is sitting on the bed with a guy, all dressed as school gilrs. Really funny. She say's that part reminds her of my. She does not know that would be a fantasy come true for me to do that.

In the UK "Nuns On The Run" - with Robbie Coltrane & Eric Idle I think, plus the early St Trinians movies had Alistair Sim playing the role of the headmistress, well worth watching for the "teenage" scjoolgirls in suspenders (garter belts), sheer stockings and high heeled shoes.

But as mentioned earlier - the one I identify most with is "Different for Girls"

There was a movie I saw a long time ago as a kid when it came on television. I was already interested in such things then, so it caught my interest. Thunderbolt and lightfoot. They were criminals. At least one of them dressed as a woman for a robbery. he lifted the back of his dress and they showed him pulling a gun from his pantyhose. I don't remember if they used this tactic with every robbery or if it was for just one of them...
