I have a close friend of many years. I decided not to tell him about myself because he is – or at least was - a self-avowed homophobe.
However, there was recently a situation in which he was about to find out anyway. So, I decided to preemptively tell him.
He said “Well, I have not seen you this happy in years so I guess it’s a good thing.” He went on to tell me later that several of his other friends have similar stories about their friends - so I guess we have a trend here!
