Hi! sisters, i hope everyone had a great day.....especially you Karren, how did your laundry turn out?
The reason of my post... do any of you know of any herb that will make my skin and hair softer? I was using the products from Suddenly Fem. Some of them actually did make my facial hair a little softer and easier to shave. But i got wise and did not reorder. After 35 years of shaving my face, and 2 years of shaving my legs there has to an easier way. And no i cannot afford electrolisis or laser tratments at this time. And yes i have tried that stupid epilator, it did not work. Gaud i'm telling you my hair must be made of iron.
I will be taking everyone's .2 cents worth and or opinions.
Love to all

You can get the same stuff from Puritan's Pride a hell of a lot cheaper if that's what you want. I say this and I am a Suddenly Fem customer. I used herbal estrogens for years but the truth is the concentration varies of the phytogens in them. Depends on the crop, what kind of year it was, the harvest, etc. They did soften my skin but did nothing for my facial hair or my breasts. I think, if anything, they affected me mentally and made my outlook on things softer. Men do not have the receptor sites for phytogens that women do. For men, especially men transitioning, you need estrogen and anti-androgens to overcome the effects of testosterone and this would have to be under a Doctor's care. Other gals here can probably give you additional information but this has been my personal experience. Ericka/Rich

Unfortunately, nothing will stop facial hair growth once it starts, even drug hormones, that's why you have to have facial hair removed. It might (or might not) grow slower and thinner, but it won't stop growing.
You can change your hormone receptors to accept estrogen, but you have to get rid of the testosterone to do that. That's why an anti-androgen is necessary to feminize the body. There is a historically useful herb for lowering testosterone called chaste tree berry. It was used by monks in mideval times to lower their sex drive, thus the name. It's also known as Vitex. The problem with it is that you don't know what potency you're getting when you buy it, for the reasons stated in the last post. Also, it works to a different degree on different people. The herbal formula that I take has clinically lowered my testosterone count by 100 points as of my last blood test, but I need to lower it lots more than that, my count started out at 803, way high for a man of 50 yrs old. My body is more resistant to it's effects then others, it might be that way with spiro too, I don't know about that yet.
It's a known fact that a women's body can make estrogen from herbal sources (there's very little testosterone to block the process), that's why women can help their PMS with soy and black coash supplements. The problem, again, is that it's hard to get standardised supplements that actually are what they're supposed to be. That's why so many people say that herbals don't work. Also, many people expect herbals to work right away, like drugs, but they don't, it can take a month or two for the effects of an herbal to be felt. The body has to digest them and then figure out how to process them, they're more of a food then a drug.
The other way to lower testosterone is permanent, but it works really well, castration.

B vitamins especially PABA, RNA supplements helps skin and zinc to name a few.
RNA has made my skin look younger and will get rid of some wrinkles in time.
But herbs by themselves no, first make sure your nutrition is adequate (unless you have a particular skin problem like seborrhea or psoriasis.) Then see an herbal doctor.
Go to vrp.com and search on skin health or skin problems.
By the way the same herbs that will "generate" estrogen in women will generate testosterone in men. So get an expert if you are going to do the herb way.

I have been plucking my facial hairs for a long time and my face is much softer now I have been using Aveeno moisturizer that minimizes shaveing
http://aveeno.com/nameStateSearchAction.do;jsessionid=IJi3L6nwzTirG3 eliTIbdRK0CmA
It is not a quick fix but it has been working for me I used Jergens Naturally Smooth and then they stop making it then I found Aveeno products that did the same thing and I like the Aveeno much better.
Give it time to work it took three months before I notice a change
