i have been in therapy and am concluded that i am a female on the inside and gender dysphoric.no pills yet,BUT ,i have had hormone fluctuation through the years from when i took prescription drugs for years straight,i have almost a full b cup for breasts,a 36 bust, hips including the bone development flared out, atoms apple mostly hidden and can't grow much for hair facial or body and can have a strong femme voice when applied.i have been read a s a woman in the past also due to my androgynous look.
i went to my doctor "family one" and found out that atleast the right testicle has a vericose vein around it and is strainging it to where it hurts like i'm kicked in the groin constantly.this is a chance to have insurance cover the castration ! karma is saying it's time .i have felt the effects of being stringly femme from hormonal diffferences over time.the emotions most of all.i think now is the oppurtunity to kill 4 birds with one stone,no more pain,no testosterone,no anti androgens, stop hair growing anymore on the body than what is already there.i can't see any disadvantages here.half my clothes are now femme ,25 % androgynous,25% male.i feel i am going in the right direction and don't have much to lose.i have been irritable at the fullest male feeling i've ever had and don't have too many male friends, kinda have a fear of hanging with males cause of my dissociation with them.any thoughts?

I can't see any reason not to have it done in your case. If your male hormones are already screwed up and if you have medical problems with the testies, then you have as good of a reason as you will ever need. If, for some reason, you should change your mind about your gender ID in the future, there are testosterone pills, I have a friend that's been taking them for 40 years, he had both testicles shot off in Viet Nam. The pills don't work quite as well as the natural stuff, but they do work.

Michelle: Are you considering SRS some time in the future? If so, by all means DO NOT get an orchie now. Surgeons need the scrotum lining to help craft the vagina. Some will not perform SRS if an orchiectomy has already been performed. I suggest you view the web sites of the more prominent doctors that perform gender reassignment surgery. Then you can discuss this info with your doc.
Isn't it odd that testes make you male, yet they are often needed to help craft the vaginal lining? Go figure.

i have read that some ts women get it done to save the hassle of taking androgen blockers, saying it costs less in the long run and ,not to mention that they will stop any new hairs from growing and will in some cases weaken the already there hairs,i have heard that the prices of electrolysis is cheaper in the long run cause it will be more effective due to new hairs not growing anymore apparently.
as for marietg, it will be a while before srs happens, and not to mention the discomfort that is being caused by them right now,i almost get a gassy stomach cause of the discomfort ,so therefore i can't wait years.
i've talked to other ts friends who had their orchiectomy before srs and did fine, had orchie local.i've also read that when you have it done they will be less hesitant on you taking srs cause it shows how serious/dedicated you are to it and that you'll less likely have a regret.
as for the incision mark,i've heard of a cut down the middle of scrotum and making cuts o both of them to remove them, then stitching back up that middle made incision.i've also heard of a cut made above each testicle and then 2 stitch deals.both werre done on tgirls.who has had what incision?any thoughts.? i also read that a lot of the doctors that do srs ,do the orchiectomies also,so i don't think they're gonna refuse srs down the line.especially if you're very developed and on hormones and living full time for atleast a year.

Well, my own orchie was done due to cancer so they made the incision on the left side of my groin rather then in the scrotum so they could take out much of the tube running from the teste. That way they could check if the cancer had spread out from the tumor, luckily it hadn't in my case.
I don't see how this technique would interfere with future surgery involving the scrotum, other then its shrinkage over time. I do know that the scar is mostly gone some five years later although it still feels numb in some areas.

I think you need to be sure yourself and not seek consensus from strangers. Not that I think people here are stupid. Rather because only you know you and perhaps big decisions like an orchi require you to have professional and more intimate assistance. Once they are gone, they are gone, so be sure even if it makes you impatient to get there.
There are most definitely prominent GRS surgeons that will not perform GRS if you have had an orchi, but there are others that will.
I suffered from a nasty varicose vein in my left testicle for years, but I opted to have it repaired so as not to limit my choice of surgeon. It irritated me immensly not to have an orchi then, but it was a decision I'm glad about in retrospect.
I have no basis on which to know whether this is a viable option. Not that you'd want to keep things hanging, but would prosthetics be a consideration, their weight possibly preserving the size and elasticity of the sac? Or consider whether you'd be fine being more streamlined, have the removal, but don't continue for SRS down there. There are alternatives, but they depend greatly on your future plans.

Watch the depression, seems without SOME T in your body it's too easy to slip into.....
I just came off Androcur about a month ago because depression was setting in very hard.....and life has not been very fair to me lately either and I'm not sure if it's a result of the lack of T or not, but either way the depression did not help.
I'm back on my feet now though, watch for signs of it, like not wanting to get out and do things that you would normally do, sitting around, crying, etc etc...

Depression and fits of rage are two common side effects of Androcur that don't normally happen with Spiro so the depression could be the Androcur and not lack of testosterone.

I hope your right on the androcur (I actually took the generic version), but I also stopped hormones 2 weeks ago, nobody said there would be withdrawel symptoms from that either! :) - just headaches but they finally subsided.
Yeah the fits of rage, had one of those last week but I've been off the Androcur for 2 weeks now, quite the emotional roller coaster last week.
This week seems to have me back on a plateau and I'm happy about that....
