Let me preface by saying I was called a freak by another CD in a CD chatroom. This hurt me, not because of the word freak but because they might be right. To make a long story short, I was asked what my favorite clothes were that I wear around the house (since I'm a closet case). I answered truthfully. I wear panties, bra, and sometimes wedding dresses. The wedding dress part was the killer. I just got into them about a year ago because me and the ex wife were at goodwill and she saw one there and said it would look good on me. I like wearing them as much as any of my other dresses maybe more. What do you think?? :)

I have 2 wedding dresses and my wife also lets me wear hers occassionally. I don't see anything wrong in that. After all, I believe we are here to enjoy our femininity without limitations.

Its not your fault that someone is less accepting. They are the one with a problem. Enjoy your dresses, all of them.

I see nothing wrong with what you wear in your own home. Thats your freedom. And whoever called you anything in a chatroom should not be taken seriously. Gone too far? I don't think so. That's my two cents.

Thank you for your responses. That makes me feel better. I didnt mention in the thread that several other people in the chat thought it was a good idea and were going to try it.!

.....whoever called you that would really tear into me. I have an Empathy Belly and love the pregnant look. I have plenty of maternity wear as well as non-maternity wear. Pregnant women just seem much more sexy:) .

I've never worn a wedding dress, but would certainly like to if I got the opportunity. I think some people have a problem with it because they think it entails going all the way, i.e. having sex with a "groom."

I feel sorry for the person that called you a freak. I've never worn a wedding drees, but would love to. Just be who you are, and if wearing a wedding dress is your thing, go for it!

If you are in your home what difference should it make to anyone? I don't have a weeding gown "yet". That individual has the problem if he called you freak. We are who we are not what we wear. I say if it makes you feel good - go for it. I don't dress to please others, I dress to make myself happy, I do it for me.

Having limited funds for clothing and no desire for marriage at this time, I don't own a wedding gown. But if what you wear in your own home makes you a freak Cami, then I guess we're all freaks. We have girls who wear maid's outfits, silk, vinyl, nets, you name it. To each their own is what I believe and I love it.
Nice to see you again!

Hi Cami,

I think that wanting to wear a wedding dress is perfectly normal, well perfectly normal for a crossdresser anyway, as it is probably the ultimate statement of femininity. Isn't that what we are all trying to achieve? Ultimate femininity?
I have to walk past a wedding shop on my way to work every day, and it is only my sense of decorum that prevents me from licking the glass and drooling over the beautiful dresses in the window, and my bank balance that prevents me going in and buying one.

You should never be made to feel like a freak, especially on a CD site. You should stay here with us, we are much more friendly.

I also have a couple of wedding gowns and love to wear them occasionally. If that makes me a freak then so be it. There is no room here for such name calling and labeling. That person in that chat room was wrong and apparently didn't know where he was much less who he was. If you enjoy wedding gowns then good for you.....

I'd like to wear a wedding gown once, for a special occasion like the real girls, but wearing them all the time isn't my thing. If you like wearing them that's great you're no more a freak than those of us that like to wear trampy clothes, or baby clothes, or classy clothes, or etc... Let the folks in the chatrooms think what they want, as long as you're enjoying what you have on that's all that matters. Now where should I book that honeymoon suite to wear said dress ;)

If you want to wear a wedding dress in your own home, why not.

Those who called you a freak are wrong, or were they jealous?

Have a Happy New Year

Ditto to the quote above! ... and I believe you are very fortunate to have wedding dresses to wear ... there's lots of us girls that would love to wear a wedding dress, but just haven't had the opportunity, (or bank account), to purchase or wear one as of yet.
You even might say ... that many of us girls, (I know I am), are even a little jealous, by not having one to wear???

Maybe we should all get together at a hotel for a "Marriage Gown Convention?" ... where we can invite all the wedding dress manufacturer's to come show off their latest wedding dresses, and make their dresses available for demo'ing?
Hey .... we could also invite some shoe manufacturer's? ;)

Cami,
Ask yourself one question, "What girl doesn't want to wear a wedding dress?". I think Kerri said it the best, most of us girls might be a little jealous. I know I am :( . I wish I could wear one. Oh, I can just imagine the feeling. I pass by a wedding shop each day to get to work, and I find myself salivating at those big beautiful gowns! :D I consider you a VERY lucky girl, not a freak!
And Kerri, I love that idea about staging a convention! I would be there in a heart beat! Ciao!

Hey girl, like everyone else said! No blood, no ambulance, no freak! If you aren't distressing anyone else's space, what is the big deal. I don't have a wedding dress, but, if I found a 2XL, 42 D, I would buy it and wear it. Don't let the little crap get you down. wenda.

Cami,
Sounds like somebody spoke before thinking what they were going to say. Like some others here, I have never had the opportunity to wear a wedding dress, but I believe that it is a sign of extreme femininity. Perhaps there was some jealousy on the other party's side. Anyway, you should dress in what give u the most pleasure!

Hi All,

Cami,

In my opinion, you are definitely NOT a freak for wearing wedding dresses. The CD in the chat room was probably really jealous and expressed it as rage against you. My wife has offered to let me wear her wedding gown, but I don't feel that I'm ready for it - maybe if we were going to renew our vows and she would prefer to wear a mens suit. I do have a white formal dress (thrift store find) that would serve as a modest bridal dress.

Jenessa,

The empathy belly and pregnancy/maternity clothes are REALLY different and innovative - I'm intrigued. Where did you get the empathy belly? I see it as a possible future direction for me if some of my other interests start to get boring. I have a fairly large belly to start with.

A freak? Certainly not!

When I'm dressed at home (basically, whenever I'm home) I dress more 'utilitarian,' as I'm usually doing homework, yardwork, or out in my shop. A wedding dress, or other formal dress, simply wouldn't be practical.

Granted, your choice of clothing for 'around the house' is different from mine, but that is entirely your perogative.

If someone else chooses to take exception to how you dress when it doesn't affect them in any way... Well, I simply feel sorry for them.

We had a post a while back where with pics of wedding dresses. It is one of my most requested special makeovers!

It it not freaky, but just a shame to wear them around the house just in case they get damaged. My favourite piece is a veil with crystal drops on the tips.

Cami, I certainly don't thing your a freak, that person that said that was just cruel and out of line(a jerk). These people are not worth getting worked up about. You are accepted by me in a wedding dress or any dress you might choose to wear. Cami just needs to continue to be Cami, and you found the right place here to be yourself.

Barbie, I've never wore one either. They are beautiful, but my goodness, have you ever noticed the prices they go for!!! Way out of my financial league.

When I was young I had a part-time job cleaning a bridal shop there were times when I was alone and I got to try on the gowns, dresses and foundations. Looking back it was a great time but now I don't think it would be something that would be that important to me. However if you enjoy it great for you and there is nothing wrong with it, it probably is the ultimate feminine dress that a woman would wear.
As far as the empathy belly if II don't watch my weight I won't need to wear one. But then who ever heard of a 50 year old pregnant woman until recently.
