BBC Science & Nature - Sex ID test
http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/sex/add_user.shtml

I recently ran across this test that is meant to tell me where on the scale of male versus female is my brain. We all have some of each, feminine and masculine and among us sisters a lot more of the fem than most guys.

My score, on a scale of F5-0-5M was about 2 on the male side.:D What's yours?

Hugs to all, Susie

I remember trying this test. According to the test, I have quite a male brain, but my sensitivity if beyond women's standards. Nothing really new, and very influenced by genetics (as a french member of the forum, I defend the educational/environmental side).

I scored *exactly* 50 on the female side, which is the average for females taking the test. Duh...just an average Jane I guess. :D

Oh, I remember my problem with the test. My english vocabulary is not rich enough to pass as a english male ... lol.

I scored 50 on the female side.

I'm shocked, well not really. I've taken similar tests before, and most of the time I end up right in the middle.

Where is the brain? From my experience of 27 years in the army and commanding line combat troops, for the GI, his brain is in the end of his penus. Nuf said.

I scored 20 on the male side but in some of the individual tests I scored very female. That is Kattie for you. I remember doing a Cogiati test a while back. I remember getting a much "better" (ie more female) score then.

I got a zero--exactly in between male and female, and more than one of the response ranges suggested I have a balanced female-male brain. Glad some authority says I'm balanced.

Well, I'm not sure where my brain is...I scored a 0, right in the middle. I guess I'm neither! The test said I have parts of both. Now that's a fine howdy do!

This post confuses me. Kattie why would you consider a more female score a "better" one? It is what it is, and you are what you are. Quite simple, really.

I scored 50 male. Do over!

Got 100% on spatial rotation, 90% on angles and got interrupted during timed word section. Voids results.

25 Male.

Some of these tests are "automatic" skills we get from our hormones, while others are learned skills that we get by interacting with others. For me the important ones were the empathy/systemizing split and the eyes test. I scored highly female in these tests and scored highly male in the angle and spatialization skills. I never have believed there was any real merit to things like the finger and thumb tests.

I had a GG good friend comment that I "think like a girl" and when I saw this thread, I just had to see what would happen. Maybe something to it. My psychiatrist cousin was not surprised when I told her. We grew up together and she figured me out a LONG time ago.

I got 50 on the male side. Eh. When you assume your subjects are either male or female you're not going to come up with a test that will find those of us who are neither. Besides, as fluid as I am who knows what I would have scored if I took this a few hours ago or waited a few hours to take it.

KatrinaAshley

50% on the female side. Did very well on the angle test and recalling the objects which were out of place. Totally blew the emotions test. Could have done better on the spatial one if I had read the directions fully. It asked for 2 and I was only choosing one. Realized this near the end and only finished 6 in time.

Whenever I take tests like these I find myself all over the place. Usually I get slanted towards the female side ever so slightly. It varies though. Who knows where I truly sit.

A zero. A centrist - fits me pretty well I suppose.

Kinda off the feminine deep end on empathizing and reading eyes. A bit off the male end in vocabulary skills. Bio stuff - fingers are female, right brained on the thumb on top test.

Fun test.

I got a zero--exactly in between male and female, and more than one of the response ranges suggested I have a balanced female-male brain. Glad some authority says I'm balanced.

This is how I scored as well.

My preferance was for masculine men .
This explains why I feel less attracted when my hubby grows his real hair out and starts to grow his fingernails long. . When he is dressed he looks very pretty and I have been attracted but I don't want to mix the two. When he is not crossdressing I want him to look like a manly man. When he is crossdressing I guess I see him as a man in a dress that looks pretty.

Thanks for the test I found it quite interesting. Kitty

Best of both worlds I guess. I was pretty extreme in all the categories, either very female or very male. Guess they cancelled each other out for the total.
