Hi everyone,

I just changed my name. It feels awkward using it, but it's more apt for me. I've adopted the feminized ending of my birth first name. I'm wondering how many names you've gone through before you settled, or did you always know your femme name, or are you still trying names on?

Hi Thea! That's a nice name - uncommon and yet distinctive.

I flirted with a couple of names (Rebecca-Becky and Jennifer) before settling on Jenna.

Hugs,

Jenna

Thea

I'm still on my first name, but I'm thinking about changing my name to one that suits my personality better and fits my family tradition with naming (the vast majority of people on my dad's side of the family's names begin with "J").

I'm kind of leaning towards "Jodi".

Jodi, thats a nice name......

:D

Jodie was my first choice, and the Lynn got added to soften it and give it that country girl flavor.

Been Rebecca ever since I realized I needed a name.

As the wife of my gorgeous crossdresser I picked Corynn's name for a few reasons. First, it cloesly resembles her common name so that's where I started - her personality is sensual but very shy and a bit giddy at times. Corynn, the name is playful and shy. She loved the spelling and I think it will always be Corynn, born from love, understanding and devotion to our marriage.

I thought about it a couple of weeks till I came up with Shelly. She was my first girl friend. The last name i'm using lately wich I think I will keep is Carlson, 'cause my dad's name is Carl. Funny hu.
Huggs, Shelly.

I have always felt my name should have been Jennifer, but got stuck with Jeffrey. Originally was suppose to be Geoffrey, but the registrar messed up, Jeffrey was the result.
I did shorten it to Jenni and to close friends it has turned into Jen-Jen :D

Thea is Greek in origin and means "Goddess". I love that name, you should keep it.

My name, Brianna, just came to me. I just looked up my name meaning and it is, Celtic, meaning "strong one".

I guess that's fitting, seeing that I've gone from joining this group, to going out in public, in less than six months.

Shannen

Shannen just popped into my head and I've never changed it.

Bonnie D

I've just had the one name and I can't see myself ever changing it. Bonnie was my first best friend when I was about 5. I loved the name ever since. D is for Dawn, a name I chose because each day is like a new beginning.

BD are also my real initials.

Bonnie

linnea
10-11-2006, 03:04 PM
I've tried a couple of other names, but Linnea is the one that I have kept and liked the best. For awhile I went by Carol which is a variation of my male middle name. At a few other times I uses Willa which is a name I like very much and relates to an American novelist (Willa Cather) whom I like. Linnea has outlasted either of those, although I use Carol as my middle name.

Jamsey

A close friend calls me Jamsey, I liked it and use it as my fem name.

Jamsey.

Only ever had one femme name, Susan Nichole. I like it, my wife likes it and it really suits me. Why worry about it, we were given a name when we were born, so we give ourslves a name when we discover her. Go with it.

Your name is YOU!
I am very new to all this, but my name was the easy part to pick. It is the feminized of the name I have been called all my life. My problem is picking a COLOR for hair, nails and clothing.
Have a great day.

Love,

I started with "Linda" but got to know too many GG Lindas. When one passed away, I wasn't comfortable using the name anymore.

I borrowed "Kay" from Diane Keaton's character in the "Godfather" films. And K is the first letter of my birth name.

We went thru a baby naming book to find Paige's name..Picked one name from every letter that we liked best and then picked from there. It was a long process, but we came up with a name we both like and I got to be a part of it :)

Casey Morgan
10-16-2006, 06:31 PM
I've only used one female name but I don't use it anymore, not even to refer to myself. It just feels too much like "let's pretend". So instead I use a gender neutral name that fits me no matter what I happen to be: Casey Morgan. I've even signed up on "regular" forums as Casey to try it out. I don't forsee any more name changes in my future. Well, except maybe a legal name change...

Samantha B L
10-16-2006, 06:57 PM
Samantha B L is more or less a takeoff on my real name.So I guess it's not too difficult to deduce my real name.Anyhow, ever since I first had the impulse to dress which was a longtime before puberty for me I thought a lot about being called "Samantha" and that seemed exciting!I started cd'ing as often as I could get away with it about a year after high school and actually wanted to be called Samantha but I didn't have a fem name as of yet.For a while in the late 80's I had a very small group of cd freinds and we formed sort of a freindly gang. They overheard me being called by my real name and right away I became "Samantha".Which was and is my pleasure.Of course, there is also Samantha on Bewitched which made the name seem cooler.

Cicely ('Sissily'), I thought it was so original and fits me to a tee....I just love it, can't wait to attend Tri-ess meetings or other places where I can display it on my 'name' card...smiles

I picked Natasha because I enjoy reading tarot cards at parties. Natasha is a little exotic and mysterious for me. She has a delightful russian accent. I believe a name I can identify with helps tremendously in getting into my feminine character. (Heels, breasts, nails and makeup help too! *;*)

lisa68

I guess I've always knew my name was Lisa. It just feels right for me.

Cathleen

My alter ego has always been "Cathy", since I first learned that I would have been christened "Cathleen" if I had not ended up with that pesky Y-chromosome.

Elly
10-17-2006, 10:38 AM
only two, my birth name is unisex to begin with, but when i got older and moved out of my grandparents house i chose my first fem name, Willow, but since ducking back in the closet (moved to redneck-land) and coming out again, this time for good, i chose Elhaym Dawn as my final name, and i go by it, my wife, siblings, & friends call me Elly... Elhaym i thaught was quite unique, i got it from a video game character's name, and Dawn was the middle name my mother wanted me to have when she was hopeing i was gonna be born a girl...

Sasha Anne Meadows
10-17-2006, 10:47 AM
I picked Sasha because that was the name of the girl looking out of the mirror at me. Added Anne is femanize it a bit. Meadows is the Englsih translationof my sir name. Works for me.

Lily's it. Love the flower. Lily Munster was HOT! It's also a symbol of death, so it reminds me I only have today, so enjoy life!
Love and xxxx, LILY

Lessa Lynn Young
10-18-2006, 12:00 AM
There have been two for me. The original was Cheryl Love which had some personal sentiment for me until I met a customer in my store with the name, after that it just felt odd to be her. When I joined the forum I had thought about a fem name for quite awhile and nothing ever felt right so I signed up with my first initial and last name. About a week later while thinking about the possibilities Lessa just kinda struck, the name comes from one of the lead characters in a favorite book series of mine. The middle name of Lynn is actually my mother and brothers middle name, decided that I wanted it too. The last name Young is all mine and my families and I will continue to use it, for the reason of, no matter how old I am when I die I still die Young. :D

Timberley
10-18-2006, 12:38 AM
This was my first fem name, but I probably won't keep it. Too much like the original.
I always liked names which could be shortened.
Samantha and Kimberley are probably my favourites.
Lady at work called me Timberly for some reason ;0) so I went with it.
Asked my GF if I had a female name, what we it be, and she gave me a weird look. I said never mind.

:0)

Thea is a beautiful name. My mom gave me a girl/boy name (as if THAT wasn't a hint!), but I've feminised the end of it for that side of me. I really like both my names, Kerrianna is just more sweetheart - although she's turning out to be a bit of a troublemaker.

TG-Taru
10-18-2006, 02:39 AM
Went for same initials as my official name, and resembling it. Read through a list of names and picked what sounded nicest and most suitable.

I'm always me too of course, but as I don't look the same all the time, different names seem more appropriate :)

Taru means legend/saga/myth by the way.

I have my own name, which is the one I use here, but my SO knows me as Doreen, only because it resembles my first name. It is starting to stick though as this is what I am now known as during all of our private time together. Its not one that I would have chosen, but she has become so accepting that she now encourages me to dress, buys me clothes & chooses my outfits so who am I to complain!:D

terrinoble
10-18-2006, 09:51 AM
I wanted a name that was (a) not a feminized version of my male name and (b) did not have the same initials.
I like anagrams. I took scrabble tiles spelling out my real, full name and the best I could come up with was Terri Marge Noble.
"Terri Noble" had a nice ring, I thought, and I started using that when I put up my first website eight years ago.

Always been Stephenie. Always with an "e". I fooled around with several last names before deciding to keep my birth name.

Some how it works for me.

For several years I was too intimidated by my feelings to even have a name. Once I started working with my therapist Ichoose the name Jennifer as a place to collect and understand this side of my life. This lasted for about a tear. Now that the feminine is the central part of who I am I use a feminized version of my given first name.

Don't fancy it.

And mine has a specific connection with me.
