I have a long curly wig, brand new for Christmas. It is supposed to be long ringlet type curls but because I kepy trying to detangle the curls with my fingers, it has now got a bit knotted and frizzy. Any tips? It is synthetic.

Just a couple of sites dealing with synthetic wigs Julie.

Whatever you do Julie, don't take a brush to it! I always find that spray on, leave in conditioner helps to tame the frizz a bit. When you brush your finger through it start at the bottom (tips of the hair, not the bottom of the wig) and work your way up to the roots, that helps to stop it from getting tangled.

Good luck with it, let us know how it is going.

Once you get your wig the way you want it, git it the once-over with a fabric softener sheet, a sure cure for fly-away hair. I also use one when static electricity makes my slip or dress cling to my stockings. Ask Windy (http://snurl.com/askwindy)

thanks for the tips. It's very annoying. I want to brush it out and shake my head sort of thing. But it just ends up in a big tangle and looks a bit like a "Wig!"

For a new wig, it should be well conditioned already. So all you need to do is get a spray bottle of water, wet it a little at a time and run a wide tooth comb (not a brush) through it. http://beautytrends.com/002c/img/5766.jpg

When using a conditionaer, make sure it is for synthetic wigs.

Although the directions say you can fix your synthetic hair with your fingers, it is winter and static buildup is greater in winter, so avoid running your hads through it.

I got one in Dec. and it is very hard to get used to the hair in the face feeling. It's gonna take time and patience.

I had a blonde one like that. I knew better but I got pissed one day and brushed it. It lost a lot of hair. You ever see the ggs that brush really curly and have that mountain of hair falling over their shoulders. That is what I ended up with.

There is not much I could say that has not been said. Yes, always tip to top. Curly or wavy large tooth comb never brush. I have several, I was going to get me a human hair one this past christmas but got 3 syn ones in stead.

Best of Luck
