It sounded good to me back when the single came out in 1999 (the album was from 1997) and it still makes me smile today

The video was a total rip off of Robert Palmer's adicted to love video I remember.

"eyeliner,whitener that colours the eyes
yellow and green oooh what a surprise
you're a slick little girl

Sorry Shania Twain is not a favorite of mine, so it is an anthem that does not include me.

You've gotta listen to 'Biology' by Girls Aloud. If you can get the video clip, that's even better :))

If that isn't about crosdressing, I don't know what is.

You can access their website and get a small flashplayer version of that song for free: www.girlsaloud.co.uk

Nice costumes as well :)

I'm not a big C+W music fan so I have not heard, "Man, I Feel Like a Woman", yet so i can't express an opinion. My favorite TG song is, "Glamour Boy" by The Guess Who.

Glamour Boy
The Guess Who
Written by Burton Cummings

Glamour boy
Get your costume on, you got 'em lined up, waitin' for you
Glamour boy
You got 'em standin' in the aisles so don't hang 'em up

For twenty-five thousand dollars you can look like a woman tonight
For twenty-five thousand dollars I think it'll work out right
I think it'll work out, uh-hah
I think it'll work out, oh, you never know how to write it
Think it'll work out

Glamour boy
You been tops for a while with a million-dollar smile
Glamour boy
You got rave reviews and you're front-page news

For thirty-seven thousand dollars you can look like your sister tonight
For thirty-seven thousand dollars I think it'll work out right
I think it'll work out, uh-hah
I think it'll work out, oh, you never know how you'll write it
Think it'll work out

So spin with the archer now
And laugh in his face as he cocks his bow
Steal from his mistress
As she's makin' love to your family
And be aware that there's not many there
Who want to take time to sing and play an honest song for the people no more
C'mon, take time to sing and play an honest song for the people tonight
Don't you wanna take time to sing and play an honest song for the people tonight

{spoken}
Ladies and gentlemen, a warm ???? welcome, if you will, for the most
phenominal group of the century... Ricky and The Balloons!!

Glamour boy
You really had your fill and it's all downhill
Glamour boy
You got tales to tell when you see your old friends

For forty-nine thousand dollars you can look like a woman tonight
For forty-nine thousand dollars I think it'll work out right
I think it'll work out, uh-hah
I think it'll work out, oh, you never know how you'll write it
Think it'll work out

So spin with the archer now
And laugh in his face as he cocks his bow
Steal from his mistress
As she's makin' love to your family
And be aware that there's not many there
Who want to take time to sing and play an honest song for the people no more
Don't you wanna take time to sing and play an honest song for the people no more
Don't you wanna try and take time to sing and play an honest song for the people tonight
You can't fool 'em
Take time to sing and play an honest song for the people tonight
They're gettin' smarter
Take time to sing and play an honest song for the people tonight
Don't you wanna try and take time to sing and play an honest song for the people tonight
C'mon and take time to sing and play an honest song for the people tonight
Mmm, take time to sing and play an honest song for the people tonight

I have that song, and many others, that I really love, but I play that song almost all the time. I just happen to be listing to it at the moment. And I would have to agree that it very well could be our anthum.

As always Loves :hugs:

I thought the CD anthem was "The Lumberjack Song" by Monty Python. :D

I always liked Aerosmiths,Dude Looks Like a Lady.
Me, too! You've just gotta love those Tyler family lips. :)

I'm not a big country music fan, but I do like some of Shania's material, especially "Feel Like A Woman".

I've always had a soft spot for Carol King's "You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman", either her version, or Aretha's. And it's a cute song to sing to one's SO. :)

Another lovely song with TG overtones is "Protection" by Massive Attack, featuring Tracy Thorne (from Everything But The Girl).

But I generally like any songs with a TG reference, even "Lola" by the Kinks. There's The Beatles' "Get Back", "Come Together", "Polythene Pam" & probably a few others. Of course, the TG anthem for glam rockers is David Bowie's "Rebel, Rebel".

I don't think there could ever be just one TG anthem. Our intrinsic diversity is too great to cover adequately in one song, IMHO. You'd probably need a couple of albums to cover all the different varieties of TG thought, feeling & activity.

How could I forget to mention Lou! :o Enough Mozart, I'll put on my Lou Reed compilation right away, which opens with "Walk on the Wild Side".

"Walk on the Wild Side" is pretty blatant. I was always amazed that it got so much airplay. It's still a regular on the classic rock stations. It's an excellent song, but I've always preferred "Sweet Jane". The full live version, with the amazing long guitar intro is, IMHO, one of the stellar moments of rock & roll performance. When I hear that version, I get an overwhelming urge to put on some lipstick, fishnets & heels, and take bad drugs. :heehee:
