Say this site or another good quality TG site had a contest of some sort. And the prize was something substantial. A condition of winning was you had to post a picture of yourself, dressed or not (Not a big deal for many), and you had to give your Real name and ciy of residence, visible on that site only. Would you?

Other than that, I have no problem showing what my other "half" looks like. Ericka

Some times there is not enough money vs the pain you would go through to revel your self. I know that information would be the property of the contest provider. They could do anything they wanted to promote themselves. :(

Ericka, privacy would be assured as far as email goes.
Tina, the prize could be a lot of cash ,a car, maybe a trip somewhere for a makeover and shopping spree, something like that.

I would have no problem letting anyone know, prize or no prize, I think that those who know me already know who or what I am. :D

I would have no problem letting anyone know, prize or no prize, I think that those who know me already know who or what I am. :DIt's the WHAT I'm worried about. Just so I don't turn into a green skinned behemoth if I get mad (Hulk smash!). Hopefully, if it came to that I'd turn into the She Hulk (who still has muscles BTW). At least that way I'd still have some kind of fashion sense. Ericka

visible on that site only. Would you?
Keep in mind that on the Web today, nothing is on one site only. It's all accessible via search engines, particularly Google. Even assuming no one else picks up your content and pastes it in other places, things live in the caches effectively forever. It's better to think of it like this: if you put it online, you've lost control of it, for good....

Not even if I was completely out. Anything you post on the internet is there FOREVER!!! This may scare the cr*p out of many people here, but know that anything you post on this site or anywhere else will live forever on some computer somewhere - that includes any emails or PMs. That is why I don't post certain pieces of personal information.

Don't worry, NSA already knows who we all are. If they really considered us a threat, we'd know it by now. I've got nothing to hide personally but I respect those who need to keep things confidential for obvious reasons. Ericka
The answer is NO. I have no problem coming out to those who might have a need to know. The entire world has no need to know what I do, and I don't care what the prize would be.

I think that it would have to be a very substantial prize. Since the only person who knows is my wife, and it may shock and/or harm those I love.

For the prize, I would need a new job, maybe a coal mining engineer or something cool like that. But since I would be OUT anyway, I would need my own talk show like Ellen or Oprah. Howabout a guest spot on The View.
The real answer is...not so much.

I've never been much of a gambler.
I used to get telemarketing calls that began "You've just won a vacation". I'd tell them I didn't want to win.
I don't even play the lottery. Call me boring...
I also don't trust strangers on the Internet. Call me paranoid. I don't give my SSN to anyone for any reason, and yes, I have been denied medical care as a result. Personal is Personal.
How many contest prizes are never even claimed? So many scams nowadays.
Those here on this forum who have shared their identity with me know that I will protect it with my life if need be. I didn't offer prizes to get it.
There might be a good reason for which I might divuldge my identity to someone who has reciprocated on this forum, but not for some contest, no matter the size of the winnings.
I don't know where this is going, but I think this is not the best way to get there. I'm sorry if I seem overly skeptical.
