View Full Version : Penis Envy
I just wanted to know how common it is for other females to have penis envy.
I have asked all of my girl friends and none of them say they have it.
ANna :)
My wife lately tells me she loves to be married to a chick with a d....
I don't know if that answer helps you? LOL

I remember an album called "Penis Envy" by the anarchist collective (and totally unlistenable) band called Crass. They used to have fantastic graphics for their albums though.

Yes the Penis can afford autoereotic pleasure but so can the Clitoris. To me it is only a conduit to urinate through and as I have sat to pee like a women (except in the odd emergency outdoors) since I was 12 and started to wear panties instead of male underpants, then even that "advantage" of the penis has been abandoned by me. Unless you wish to father a child, and I have never wanted to do that, then the penis is to me just another organ of my body, as are my intestines, heart, thyroid etc. Given the choice of losing my eyes, or a leg or arm or losing my penis then I'm afraid that the weiner would be the one to go!

Sorry I wasn't really thinking it was just the name "Penis Envy" put me on a long train of thought about music.

Indeed so Kieron, but I thought it might be of interest to have the views of a M to F who was born with a Penis, still has it , and has no great feelings about it. I have only met one woman, a lesbian , who would liked to have had one.
This echoes the feelings of many women about their breasts, they are there, they have had them since puberty, they wouldn't want to lose them but have no strong feelings about them, they are part of their body. Contrast that with many M to Fs who would LOVE to have nice pair of boobs and some spend a fortune on very realistic breast forms, some even have silicone implants even if they have no intention to have GRS. Tell me, do F to Ms spend money on realistic Penis substitutes and "stuff" the front of their underpants to give a realistic male "lunchbox" bulge the way that some M to Fs achieve a realistic Bust-line?
If I have trespassed on your space, I apologise, and if you have strong objections to this post I will delete it.

I don't really know how common it is, or how many women would admit to it, at any rate. Maybe every woman does. Or maybe Freud was off his trolley . . .
Friends of mine, a lesbian couple, bought a strap-on. One of them liked it, the other wasn't too thrilled.
And yeah, FTMs do buy packies/ stuffers. I've had 3 so far, and if I had $600 I'd spend that on an actual penis prosthetic (they've got 'em, ya know). Some guys don't, of course. And some guys are fine with using a rolled up sock. To each his own.
As for breasts, some women love them, some women hate them, some are indifferent. As for mine, I say lop 'em off. My mum says they can come in handy, though, under the right circumstances. I just don't happen to ever see myself in those circumstances . . . lol

ANna :)as a ftm i would want nothing more than to have the male member, as i think a bit different from the average female as do alot of ftms as we dont identify as female
but as Abraxas says some do some dont........it depends what road you are travelling on i guess......ie the cd route or ts route

Wow, this thread is already going in different directions. First of all, Anna, if you want to know what females think, you should ask the GGs, but since you're asking us (FtMs), you'll get responses that GGs won't necessarily give you.
Secondly, I think Freud was a nut case . . . I've never met a regular woman who had penis envy - the only thing they've envied about men is their elevated social status (male privilege). Some FtMs, on the other hand, do have penis envy - although some already feel as if they have one (the "phantom penis" phenomena). As the other guys mentioned, some FtMs pack or stuff their pants using either commercially available devices or some of their own creation.
And I'd like to ask the MtFs to please refrain from answering this question as it's obviously meant for either GGs or FtMs. :nono:

I don't think envy is the right term for me. I might envy someone's harley or their new ipod - but I don't feel as though something's missing in my life for not having one. Whereas a penis is something else - I don't envy it so much as feel as though there's something missing.
As a transexual I think reducing it down to "envy" would be both simplistic and a little condescending actually to trans people.

Thanks Kieron, that answers my questions. Good Luck to you and the other transmen.

Sorry Capt, I disagree here, yes the question is in the F2M forum, but penis envy is not exclusive to GGs.
I could be envious of the guy's penis next door to me in the toilets, cos it is bigger than mine (not that I spend my time looking :heehee: ) or even mine is so big (Shut it Sandra  ) I am envious that he has a smaller one than me.
Just my :2c:

but Nigella is this case penis envy is referring to actually wishing to have one! and im guess you still have yours intact lol.....thats why the MTFs need not answer this lol my :2c:

Hey, Nigella:
Of course, penis envy is not exclusive to GGs or FtMs, but it seems to me that the original poster was asking this question of bio-females:

I think that penis envy, and what FtM's experience is totally different. Penis envy is when a GG feels like she's missing out on something by having "girly bits" whereas FtM's feel they lack the penis they should have, it's not so much envy as it is, a sense of missing something integral to your sense of being.

thanks Kieron
anyway you can look at that question so many different ways and it has so much different meaning to different people here. because you have such a large mix of people. i would be glad to have anyone add there input and feelings on the matter.
personally i dont look at other men's members and i dont care much about mine, as long as it's not in pain.

I'd be happy to take a pill like the MTF were talking about where you can change your gender at will..I think that would be cool. so yes sometimes I experience penis envy. :D

That's a good point. Of course, it may be denial, but I feel that I already have one - even if I need a magnifying glass to find it. :heehee:

i wouldn't call how i feel envy or even that i'm missing some thing i should have. to me it's more like from time to time it would be nice to have one. (don't have to sit to piss, can pull it where ever when you need to take a leak in the woods, and make my girls moan) except for that, i don't really have want or need of one and it would just like my breasts just hang around.

I think this is a great thread it's brought in so many different responses. As for me Penis envy has always been about power male power and the things associated with it. Having a penis is about bein a man and having the privilages of that gender. It's wiered but sometimes I feel I have one but I just can't do anythin with it coz it's too small I take the male role and yet I don't if that makes sense. It's not a power thing to me more a sexual pleasure thing lol :o Oh dear am I making sense here? :hugs:

It's very simple for me: if I had one, I would be a guy physically, not just mentally. And dating wouldn't be such a problem anymore... at least not for that reason :D

Freud never talked about that!
PS I have read alot of Freud and think he was a nut, probally a sex manac himself that is why he was so obsessed with it.
Also he felt dreams meant something! Wow what a nut.

Jane,
I think Freud might have discussed vagina envy if there were any men willing to admit it - especially in that day and age. But that's not very likely (even now). But I do agree that dreams can have hidden meanings, messages and insight into our psyche. I've learned a lot about myself from mine. :2c:

Wow this is late. I just have something really funny to add. My roomie, Craig, is a genetic guy. When I got my first packy a few days back I let him see it. He was pretty amazed by it and the rather large bulk it made in my pants. He says at least once a day that he can't believe my d*ck is bigger than his is. I tell him well Craig, even if that is so, at least yours is real. I would love to trade with you. lol So I think both of us have some penis envy going back and forth. :)
Myself, I'd love a penis. A real one. It'd be so cool...
I also know a (as far as I know, gender-strate) girl who openly admits to having penis envy.

I wouldn't say that I have penis envy, because I don't really feel envy about that. I would however, like to have one, but I don't think that it's the same as penis envy.
