Help ladies!

I have a lovely new pair of patent sling backs and today I got dressed and scuffed one slightly. How can a girl get a scuff mark off of patent shoes?
It isn't horrible but - one needs to look her best, right?

scuffs on patent leather shoes (which are the slick shiney type and won't take polish) can be removed easily with a very *mild* abrasive.

As a young girl I used Colgate toothpaste (not the gel type). It does a very quick and easy job of it!
