OK girls, I've been thinking a lot about the things that make it harder (or easier) for me to go en femme. In some ways, I have it easy, and in others I think I face more of a challenge. Here are my blessings and curses.

Blessings: :D
Almost NO Adam's apple
Very light beard shadow, easy to cover
Long hair
Features on the 'softer' side
Decent legs, if I must say so myself!

Curses:
Heavy brow (I need to wear large glasses all the time to cover it, no makeup can fix this problem!
Tall (6'-1")
Shoe size (12W) makes it difficult to find good fashions
Large hands
Long arms (NO long sleaved shirt in a woman's size has long enough arms!)
Receeding hair line

So how about you? What are your blessings and curses?

4. features softer side
5. light brow look great when waxed
6. great legs
7. shoe size 9/10

curse
1. height 5'8

I wouldn't put this in the 'curse' section! My wife is 5'9 and, while she might look tall standing next to 'petite' women, is by no means tall enough to really stand out. I'd give anything to drop 5" off of my 6'1! Oh, the fashions I could wear!!

The only reason I can accept my height is that I know a few GGs that are as tall as I am that cary it off well, so I know it isn't as bad as it could be if I were, say, 6'6. I am just a 'tall girl'.

Blessings:
1 - my bad eyes -- can't see how I really look in the mirror,
2 - my figure -- not great, but not bad either,
3 - no visible adam's apple -- seems to be an early favorite here,
4 - an almost full head of hair -- just a bit high in the corners, but not too hard to cover.

curses:
1 - my voice -- still can't maintain a good pitch for any length of time,
2 - my lack of confidence -- much better than it used to be, but still something I need to deal with daily(this applies to all facets of my life),

The damned hairline (apparently a trend)

Can't say as I can answer as asked. I try to turn all of my perceived disadvantages into advantages. I'm in control, so have to direct all of my qualities to try to be positive. I don't bother taking time to consider my weak points. It's interesting to note that most can identify them though. My philosophy is : "work with what you have, work on what you don't have". Liking who you are is important in my opinion and that goes a long way. Ericka/Rich

Hi,

Curses:
1) oval facial structure

Princess Michelle

I thought oval facial structure was a more desired shape? At least that's what the beauty mags have told me.

up side: no adams apple to speak of
easy beard to cover
job allows shaving entire body from neck down
nice legs, not too tall at 5'11

down side:

shoes 12M, sometimes 11M depending on style
very deep voice, radio quality- difficult to modulate
eye area needs glasses to cover masculine features.
broad shoulders needs careful fashion attention

But something must be working, I have been out and about all this weekend fully dressed, as long as I keep my mouth shut, no long looks or double takes.
about 90% passable. Thank my lucky stars Karen S.

Hmm.... most in this thread have implicitly understood the question as asking principally about physical characteristics. So I'll respond accordingly:

Blessings:
Generally soft facial and physical features
Moderate adam's apple and browline
Good skin
Minimal beard shadow
Natually fem eyebrows and eyes
Slender build
Feminine legs - though not especially long relative to my body
Light body hair

Curses:
Precluded from fully shaving
Weak chin
Long-ish face
Small mouth (this used to really bug the heck out of me)
Shoulders sometimes tough to disguise
Upper arm musculature indisputably male
Very, very big feet (14 - occasionally 13W)
Relatively large hands with prominent knuckles

Which brings me to the thing that is both a colossal curse and, in some ways, the greatest blessing: my height. (I've harped on this theme a lot recently, so stop if you've heard it.) I am 6'3" flat footed. In even low heels and with a little extra hair height, I'm closing on 6'6". For quite a while I was deeply unhappy about my height because, obviously, "passing" in the deceptive sense is not in the cards. However, as I spend more and more time out en femme, I have come to love relating to the world not as a deception, but as a crossdresser! And the world has been very decent about interacting with me as a woman, which is really all I wanted.

My height, in other words, has freed me from the anxieties that come with trying to be mistaken for a genetic female! On balance, I consider this far more of a blessing than a curse :) Except when it comes to buying shoes....

Good things:
Thin build
light to no body hair
great legs
thin waist
good skin and soft complexion
height 5'9". I consider this only a little above average compared to a gg.
small adams apple
thin hands
thin arms
good balance and coordination
small feet-womens size 9-1/2 or 10
good posture
good muscular and joint flexability
ability to soften voice and use vocal inflexion
confidence and ability to smile
ability to match colors and styles to my advantage
know how to use the right accessories at the right time

I have no things that I consider bad for a femme presentation.
