View Full Version : What to do with our Y chromosomes

OK, this is just for fun, but I've decided that from here on out I will use one of my Y chromosomes (figuratively speaking, of course) to spell the word gYrl. Now maybe someone out there knows how many cells are in the average male body so that I will know when I have used up all of my Y's and have graduated to GIRL.
The problem is that Y chromosomes are only 3/4 of X chromosomes, so we XYs have 1/8 less the crhomosomal content of women. If you give away your Y, you'll only be half a woman, not 7/8 of one.

Does that mean I get to be shorter as well?

No, not shorter, just short of a Y chromosone!

That's ok. It took years for my closest friends to get my sense of humor.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my hope is that I can meet an FTM and we can trade: his extra "x" for my unwanted "Y".

LOL Tree, it took me a bit to get it, and I'm not blonde. Look at the two letters: X Y .....Y as it appears when written is 3/4 of X i.e. just missing one leg.

Sorry, Hon. The "Y" is there to stay, unless, of course you "X" it out somehow! Ericka/Rich
