We are going to regular doctor and to check that all is normal without telling a doctor what it is for so i need to know what results are nessessary and then ordering stuff online

 Chrissy, don't! You're both jumping off into deep water here and trying to play doctor without enough education to do so!
Please, I urge you, if you and your SO can't face telling your regular doctor the real reasons for the visit, then for the health of your SO, and for your emotional well being, make an appointment with a doctor in another town!

You are going to have a difficult time convincing your physician to do all this blood work without telling him/her why you want it done.
Perhaps you could go to a comercial lab and order the tests done there. I just Googled "blood work" and got many hits.
Try the following stite: <http://www.lab-safe.com/>
All the tests you need are available. Pay by PayPal.
The problem, of course, is going to be cost. These tests are all expensive.

Chrissy,
I am with Vanya on this one. Self prescibing is potentially self destruction. Tell your doctor why, get things done properly and above board. Yes, she will have to go through the HBSOC but is that a bad thing? The standards of care are there to protect the patient not be an insurmountable wall. It will take longer but again, it is for a good reason.
Like others I could quote all the medical side but there are other more important considerations in my view. Top of the list is survival.
I am very pleased you are supporting your SO in this but caring and support means doing it right; protecting everyone including you.

I've told two doctors I'm taking self-prescribed Estrofem and spiro, and neither considered it to be a problem.
One is my nurse practitioner at the VA medical center, who's totally sympathetic and now orders the appropriate tests as a matter of course.
The other was a urologist, whom I told as he was about to prescribe something to prevent prostate enlargement. His judgment was that the spiro would accomplish the same purpose.

Personally, I think you should tell the doctor that you're not asking for a prescription for HRT, you just want the proper tests to monitor it. There's enough information on the web about basic dosage for HRT that you can self-prescribe, if you follow the guidelines, but you still need the tests to make sure you're not damaging something in your body with the hormones.

Hope you don't mind me replying to this hun the whole hormone thing is such a big thing. Personally I wouldn't do anything without going to my GP and talking the whole thing through. I was sooooo nervous about going to get injections to stop my periods but the doc was great about it. I had looked up everything first on the net but I felt so much safer after talking it through with her. I would go with what the majority are saying in here and don't do it on your own get advice off ya doc and look after ya self. Felix xx :hugs:

hiya Chrissy,
All i can do is to give you a hug... your partner is hell bent on doing what they want, im simply surprised you have had to come on here and do the donkey work asking what tests need doing, surely if your partner is as serious as he seems then he should be getting off his backside and doing the research and not leaving it to you to do...

Please Chrissy listen to Vanya, if things go horribly wrong you will have to live with the guilt for the rest of your life. And remember doctors have taken an OATH OF CONFIDENTIALITY PLEASE PLEASE BE SAFE FOR BOTH YOUR SAKES

DITTO! if your so is on this forum, then she should be reading this avidly andknowing it will put you on a very dangerous path. you need each other for support, not to be the doctor/patient dyad and the couple dyad, and the friend dyad. It is not safe medically and it is not safe spiritually and emotionally to load it all on two people. go to a doctor. do it right. be proud of who you are and don't hide behind fear. :2c:

I almost self medicated but chose not to. In addition to all of the medical issues, there can also be risk of depression.
As tempting as it is, it's really best to see a doc.
Good luck, it's a very hard and personal choice.
