men's. But who cares? I mean, I guess it depends where...Just decide at the moment and live with the consequences. But I really think you could go in either one. I have gone in both while dressed as a man (this is at a bar, normal bar, not gay bar). Go where the shorter line is, it's fun, but just be reasonable about it, laugh and say sorry, or something.

Thanks I went out for Halloween for the first time and it was a situation that I had not thought of.

This hallowe'en was my first time out. I was 'tucked,' and had to pee. I went into the men's bathroom, started lifting up my skirt and joking with the guy beside me, when I remembered (I was drunk, remember) that I was tucked, and had to use a stall.:o I indecorously ran to the stall shut the door, and laughed. People thought I ran to the stall for a different reason.:o It was funny. Everyone was drunk, and I flirted with the girls who were lined up, encouraging them to use the men's room!

I go into the men's room and go into one of the stalls and close the door.

Unisex, followed by female, then male in that order of availability...

Hiprule (and others) - Firstly, congrats on your first time out, I went out for the first time about a month back. Anyway, I used the ladies (although the place was very mixed) and felt totally accepted doing it. I probably would have felt weird going to the gents. The "rule of thumb" I was told by a someone who goes out regularly is if you are dressed like a girl, then act like one - that included going to the loo!!

Although I try not to have that issue by going right before leaving, if I do have to "go" I'll use the womens. I figure I'd have a lot more trouble if I went into the mens with a skirt and makeup on.

The club I go to on weekends has a "unisex" restroom, which is really the best alternative. I've seen 'em in gas stations, too. I guess the next best is the "single occupant" restrooms where you are not sharing the restroom with anyone. In that case, I have used the women's. When I went to the Halloween street carnival Tuesday, they had a bunch of porta-potties. I was en femme with petticoats, so I used the "Disabled" PP, which is much bigger.
I don't think I would ever try to use a men's RR while en femme.

I guess it depends on if I think I am being seen as male or female. I go with whichever choice would fit how I am being percieved.

If I think I'm being 'read' by everybody, I'll try to find a unisex room. Failing that, I'll use the men's room.

If I really think I'm being seen as female, I still would prefer to find a unisex room (just because of the legal problems you could get into if somebody decided to make a fuss) but if one is not available I have no problem going into the ladies.

Besides, the ladies rooms are usually cleaner and better decorated :heehee:

My honest opinion of myself enfemme is that I look good. But really,I'm not quite passable.I've tried my darndest to be passable even studying the available techniques on altering my gait, hand gestures and speech. And it's all a lot of fun to use those things around other people but I generally come off as "that guy in ladies clothes" and not as a substitute GG.It's no big deal and it sounds narcistic but I'm doing this for myself anyway.Which leads us to the restroom question.I usually use the guys when the crowds and lines at a given place or event are at low ebb.I try for a stall and not a urinal. But when I was a little younger like 15 years ago I would sometimes go into the women's in places where the crowd was small and it would sort of go unoticed.Women's restrooms are more fun than walk-in closets.Once I went into a women's restroom in a department store and I became so preoccupied with some magazine reading that I was in a stall for 15 minutes without keeping track of the time.Rock concerts are interesting. An awful lot of people are stoned and just sometimes there's a lot of presto chango on the restrooms.Cheers,Samantha B L

I recently have had this issue. And agree with some here...if a unisex bathroom is available, use it. Otherwise use the ladies. Go in, do your business, and get out. Don't use that time to check makeup or admire yourself in the mirror. That might attract more attention to you and possibly some trouble we all don't need to deal with.

I recently found a local makeup artist who has done my makeup for me twice. I now look pretty convincing totally dressed....my opinion...and this is when I use the womens bathroom. When dressed as a woman...use the womans bathroom and be a lady about it.

Take Care,
Michelle

If you can pass, use the womans. If not use the family restroom or the mens room. You can't be arrested for being in the mens room I did that once, hoisted my skirt up and whipped it out, many watched in horror!!!BJ

When I am out en femme, i will use the ladies room, without fail i would feel uncomfortable (despite my physical size) using the men’s room. If i am dressed as a man however i will use the men’s room.

At the club: Ladies

At a rest stop along the Interstate: Ladies

I've not been out shopping enfemme, but would go for the unisex first off, then the ladies, then the mens.

However, as Michelle said, when using the ladies, go in, do your business, and get out. That is much easier when the restroom isn't very crowded. If I had to wait in line with a bunch of ladies, I couldn't do it, so I'd head for the gents.

When out enfem I use the ladies room, would never consider using the men's room while wearing a dress.

As I'm a long way from being passable and because I'm terrified of the girl's room I try to find a unisex at a convience store or a single occupancy men's. I have found that Starbuck's are usually lockable single occupancy and clean. Has anyone used the ladie's at the mall to find it full of teen age girls?

In many places it is against the law for a genetic male to go into the ladies room without "the letter" that says you are on the path to transgender living. Some places/states are worse than others and you might find yourself on a sex offenders list if caught.

Just walk confidently up a urinal with a, "how's it hanging". I've always wanted to try that. :heehee:

Jasmine are you referring to the UK in that regard?

You might find this link helpful in that case http://www.northernconcord.org.uk/Police-Sense%202.htm

I've posted this before, but the topic keeps coming up, but it dispels the myth that it is illegal.

Don't matter, passable or not. Rule of thumb, if you play the game, use the correct B-room. This should apply to anyone. . . If you present yourself as masculin/mens room... fem/ladies room. Will draw least amount of attention to yourself. But keep in mind location (clubbing or Walmart) and above all safety!!! I always try to use the private B-rooms when aval. then resort to the other options, but don't stand out, even if your a dude in a dress, blending in a ladies room is possible, mind your behavor. Don't make is a sexual thing. You know what I mean.

Wow tough question!

I only used a womans restroom (In public) once, I was travelling and in femme - there were people at the rest stop but it was quiet so only the coffee lady really saw me. I used the womens at work all the time after everyone left (I was there 1-2 hrs later than everyone else at that time).

Scary, I hope I can pass when I do go out for the first time, I can't see myself "Outing" myself by going in the mens.....but if a woman outs you and complains then it's the same consequence but worse (?).

I too like the starbucks bathrooms......Thyere are many Unisex "washrooms" in Canada (Love that phrase!)...

When dressed I use the one with the picture on door that I most resemble. Mens restrooms are soo icky that I would never even think of sitting let alone getting almost undressed to use the potty. Remember that when dressed you some times have a lot of clothing to re-arrange before and after the work is completed.

The men's, usually - I'm a stick-in-the-mud. When being escorted with milady, however, we powder our noses together (and discuss the upcoming festivities with great relish, such a pair of tarts!).
