My New Way Of Thinking...

Ive been thinking (I do that a lot!) and ive decided a few things.. just thought you all might want to know, as it affects me in a big way....

Ive decided that i dont care what anyone thinks of me anymore... ive spent years of my life thinking.. "oh i cant shave my legs because im going out and may meet a girl..." stuff like that... and to be honest, after that argument i had last night ive thought to myself SOD what anyone else thinks..

Im gonna be me... now and forever.. and screw anyone that dosent like it...

Thats all i wanted to say..

I want to meet someone that is going to like me for who i am, not what i can be for them.. i want to be me, not a version of me that ive made up to make someone else happy..

Good luck on that! I believe that we all eventually find that life isn't all about "me," and no matter what we think, we eventually have to find a way to fit in. Whether that means we have to learn to create a version to make others happy, or if it means saying screw everybody else, we will do what we need to do to be accepted. I wish you luck.

Kay I feel the same in many ways. Shave, yes I do and I don't care who sees my legs. Wax my arms, and have no one even giving me a second look. You've been through a lot Kay, and you need to be you now more than ever. People who are not like us probably just view us as extremely selfish people. I don't honestly know Kay if it is all that or just the fact that many of us have been forced for so many years by an unaccepting society to "modify" our dress, our behavior, our mannerisms, ourselves in general, until we have been so screwed up internally as to who and what we really are that we nearly go insane. Some actually do. I know it took me a long time to realize that. Now it isn't so much that I am not comfortable with who and what I am, because I am, but the frustrating fact that society is still in the dark ages when it comes to how they see us that I don't know anymore if we will ever really be accepted, and, in the larger sense, how important it is really going to be in the final analysis to BE accepted by mainstream society. The real fortunate ones in all of this are the people like Amelie who just don't care what anyone thinks and is going to do what she wants to do whether you like her or accept her or not. That is true liberation and for her and her situation, it is undoubtedly the right thing to do. Ultimately, it is all about the choices that we make and being prepared to live with the choices, and the consequences of those choices, that you made. Hopefully, you make enough of the right ones in your life so that when you look back on it you don't have to ever look back in regret.

Be who you are, not what others want or expect you to be. I guess at this point, that is as far as my thinking takes me on this subject matter.

What you are experiencing is exactly what I have been experiencing over the past year or so.

Denial and suppression are not good for the soul. They will affect other areas of your life. We all need to find the courage to be who we are . My only regret is that it took me so long to get here.

This doesn't mean that I shove cd in people's faces. But it does mean that no one will ever again make me feel uncomfortable about me.

So shave those legs, sweetie! and anything else that waorks for you!

Darling i am exactly the same. Sod the rest. as i said in my other thread. Going to get my hair and hormones sorted tommorrow. Ineed this so desperately. I can not bear it any more.
