I'm "OUT"
Went shopping with wife today.
The day started out like this: Part of a quote by me earlier this afternoon, "... Look both of your sisters are snots and for some reason have nothing to do with you. You need a sister, I can be that for you, lets go shopping. " Miracle of miracles she smiled and said, "O.K." so we went. It cost me dinner at Carrabbas, http://www.carrabbas.com/ (well worth the cost, the food is good. ) A new artifical Christmas tree, a new crock pot, and two pair of pants at Avenue. BUT.....drum roll, if you please....I was able to buy these:

in size 11W . Sat right there on the bench and tried them on with her sitting next to me. Of course she saw my stockings but said nothing. Walked around a bit to get the feel of them and decided to keep them on. Very comfortable and cozy for the cooler weather. While putting them on I spotted a cute pair with 3" heels and said that I'd really like them but I knew they wouldn't "work" so I'd pass up on them. No negative comment from her.
When i stood up I pulled my trouser legs down over them and for all the world they looked just like any other tan shoe. She agreed that they didn't look bad or too "girly"
My only comment back to her was, "Just allow me to demonstrate some common sense" I just don't want, at this point, to upset her and go too far overboard. As everybody here says "slow and carefully"
So,....I've had my first taste of "shopping with wife" It was fun actually. Also a bit expensive, but I'll do what I have to. I'm not above bribing her with other things to be able to get what I want. ;)

Great Phyliss, Glad to hear that your SO is working with you. I hope she will keep the communication open with you and work with you. Don't push let her take all the steps you follow and everything will work better. She still could change her mind down the road as women often do. GOD LUCK!!!

WOW!! Glad you had a good experience at the AVe. Too bad you're not in W Michigan, the wife would have tried to talk you into a charge account...BJ

Billijo, I have an Avenue charge Account. Got it last year when we stopped in to get some things. She needed panties for herself, so we picked out about 7 or 8 pair for her and I picked out matching ones in my size at the time. All I got then was a simple "rolling of the eyes" as if to say "you old fool" but that was all. Didn't buy any this time. I'm too small for them. (gotta love weight loss.)

Amy Wannbe I don't know if she's "working with me" but at least it's not AGAINST me.

Barb try this link. What I picked out was the Destiny Tall Boot in Tan.

On the way home I mentioned to her that this coming Thursday I didn't have much work and had though that I'd stay home and do some much needed "house work" ie some serious dusting, floor washing, and a few other things. The only problem was that 12 yr old "live in" grandson had a day off from school that day. I wouldn't be able to do the work the "way" I wanted to. She smiled at the idea. "Well, you could still do the work anyhow"
"Yeah but it wouldn't be as much fun"
Another smile from her.
I may be out in the full sunlight and not even realize it.

Congratulations.....I know this was a long time in coming for you.

Me, I'm on the verge of divorce again. She has never seen me dressed but know I do it on business trips, feels I've lied to her fot 27 years of marriage...

She can't accept or live with it.....

This is killing me.

Cheers,

Satin...

I am saddened by that news. I will keep your best interest in my sometimes prayers.

Oh Phyllis, I'm sooo happy for you. Appreciating how difficult it can be for our wives/SO's, such acceptance really is a gift.

I do think you're prudent not pushing it too far, too quickly (though the heels did sound yummy).:p

Take care, and continued good luck!

Hugs,

Tammi
