went shoe shopping yesterday

I went window shopping through the mall yesterday, strolled by Payless shoe
store. I decided to go in and check out the size 13 selection since its hit and miss. Did the usual walk past the cashiers that always say hello as soon as that
darn buzzer goes off, you can never sneak into that store. Made my way to the womens section the long way around the store, turned down the isle and low
and behold there was a girl there looking at the size 13 selections. I was
startled to find a girl looking in this area. I had to keep walking but did manage
to get a glimse of her feet and they were big. I felt sorry for her because I know
the problems she must face. I quess there are really some girls that buy those big shoes after all, not just crossdressers

I kept walking, it's hard enought looking when nobody is around, let alone when somebody is standing right next to you. The girl was in highschool so I didn't
want to freak her out fighting over shoes

I believe the UK sizes run one-and-a-half sizes smaller than the US sizes. Therefore, a US size 13 is equal to a UK size 11 1/2. This is only true for shoes...no idea how clothing sizes compare.

Besides PayLess, where else can you go? I tried a few chain stores like AJ Wright and was not able to find what I was looking for. Payless in my area did not have a wide selection in the 11-12 size.

I still get an "I'm being watched" twinge from time to time when I am shoe shopping. I wear hose when I am trying on shoes at Payless and other places. If anyone says anything, I can always say "costume party."

Donna, Of course the SA will greet you. That is what she is trained to do and what is expected of her. You can expect to be greeted in each and every store and asked if you need help. You should never be able to sneak into any store. When I worked at New York & Co and The Limited, we had 30 seconds to greet a customer. If we failed on this, we could be written up.

Yes, very true. My ex-wife wore a 13 or 14, depending.
