Not so long ago I used to deliberately search out stretchy thin pants, to follow the curve of my butt. Naturally, those pants easily lent themselves to VPL (Visible Panty Line), or to panty colour bleed. Which, at the time, was fun.

These days, I seem to end up buying more clothes that are just naturally thin-fabric'd, and I risk show-through that I wasn't seeking.

For example, the pants I bought tonight turn out to be quite thin: in the fitting room, the outline and texture of my panties was quite clearly visible; I've seen blouses sold as "sheer" that were more opaque.

What do others do in cases such as this, where panty lines might be anywhere from "noticable" to "fairly obvious"?
A couple of times with some of the older pants, I have just tucked and gone without any panty; with this latest pair of pants, I have the suspicion that (at least at some light angles) I would show through.

Hmmm, possibly a body-stocking would look okay, as that would not have top-of-panty lines.

Sort of need a camisole for below the waist; I guess that would be a "slip". But wouldn't slips tend to produce bunching in pants thin enough that VPL is a problem? Slips are fine for under dresses and skirts, but the pant legs present a problem.

Personally I love panty lines on ggs and me but I suspect this is the reason for the use of a THONG!:D

Yeah, I've read on walmart.com in the info section on thongs, that it has "no panty lines".

Well I wear some thin skirts but always with a slip (full or half) under them.... And I like tight tops but they are usually knits and not see through... For me its about the over all look of the outfit.....not what any one article of cllothing does....

And don't really care to show my pantys or bra through something.... Not age appropriate behavior!! Hehehe

I don't wear see through fabrics, but my wife does have concerns about this and she wears thongs for just this reason. No VPL.

I usually use a body shaper with built in thong. This let's me keep things in place with no lines.

Heck, I like my vpl or bleed thru! I think both are really sexy! I like dark panties under light colored thin skirts or fem shorts. Now Karren, no nasty cracks! lol lol lol

Well, pantyhose is definitely an option - but I tend to hate pantyhose, especially since I live in Florida. Terrible things for a hot, steamy climate. The best answer, I think, are definitely thongs. A good 90% of my pabtuies are thongs. Love 'em.

I love looking at underwear. Panty lines, panty tops, whale tail, even bra straps.

Tess,

There's this misconception that a thong will get rid of panty lines under tight and clingy clothes, wrong. You usually just end up saying to everyone, "lookie, I'm wearing a thong."

Here's the deal:

If you're not interested in showing any panty lines under your trousers, you'll need to either go commando (no drawers at all), wear pantyhose under your outerwear (yuck in my opinion), or go with a very minimal g-string in a skin-tone. You might (and that's a big might) be able to get away with a very flat-edged thong that closely matches your skintone (very important). I'd recommend a good seamless thong such as the hint-of-skin thong by Felina or the Meryl Luster thong by CKlein.

Best,

Some Gaffs have no "pantie lines" (like the gaffs I bought), and they "tuck" nicely

Exactly. It depends on how quickly the item gets more opaque as you go lower, but I have tested myself and found that a thong can be noticably visible, and the line of it will be mid-cheek instead of near the waist where it might be hidden under the edge of the top. G-string, perhaps, but thong is not really the answer.
Plus, if your face isn't quite up to "automatic pass" then the thong attracts attention, sort of like, "That's a guy dressed up, snort, well what do I care? Wait, is he wearing a thong?? Who does he think he's trying to fool?? That just plain looks stupid, he's an idiot not to realize how bad it looks! That's just sick."

Hot and steamy is not a problem here! I live in the coldest large city (ummm, in the world, I think it is.) Ulan Bator in Mongolia might be colder, but it is a close thing.
(No, I can't tell you all about the best fashions for dog-sledding!)

Not sure how I'd react to seeing "an old woman" showing visible panty lines....but on younger, more vibrant types, I personally enjoy seeing VPL's and colored under~things under a shear blouse or skirt! I find it plain sexy!!!:D

I wear alot of tight, thin, low rise stuff. Thongs are all i wear for underwear. They are so comfy. Plus, i think they add to the look. I love to let a thong strap show.

Just for the fun of it, try using a camcorder. To see if you show or not. Check to see you show through when bending, stooping or kneeling. And then believe what the camera tells you....BJ

I have found that a good thong can act as a gaff if used right. Besides that thin piece of material that goes up the back will only be felt for a short time. If you wear sometng white wear a white thong and keep yourself shaved and clean totally. :2c:

Yeah "Butt" dose the thong stay "White" for long +?

I saw a GG this summer from accross a parking lot this summer. She was all in white except for the bright blue panties she had on. Kinda spoiled the look of the outfit.

I would say if the pants you are wearing are not to tight in the thigh that you should consider a long let panty of some type. I do know that there are enough different types out there to make is easy to pick one that will be comfortable and functional at the same time.

Take a look at what is below. I found this while searching for articles no fashion do’s and don’ts. It is from the Her Room Website. The article can be found at the below link.

Lingerie Essentials: Complete Panty Wardrobe (http://www.herroom.com/panty-essentials,218,30.html)

It is actually a pretty interesting article and well worth the time.

Then there's the rain factor :D
Cold and wet, I too dont' go out in tight clothes - not a smart thing to do if you will be outside long as it doesn't insulate as well as loose clothes do.

Yet again it's raining out, record month - 8 or 9 inches of rain this month!
