Help! I would like to purchase new breast forms but I am in the dark as to where to get them. I have vistied a couple of mastectomy shops. The best price I have found is around $300.00 for the pair. Is this reasonable? Is this type of shop the best place to shop for them? I would appreciate any help I can get.

well, from one site i've seen that caters exclusively to CD/TG, yeah, that's a good deal.

You can get some really good-quality forms at a mastectomy store, and if you find something you like the feel of, then do buy them. $300-$500 is a reasonable price - you get what you pay for.

I got my nice forms through the Breastform store, mentioned here already, and they were about $250. Their top-of-the-line forms are Really Really nice, and they pride themselves on their service, which is very good.

My first forms were gotten through Avon, about $30/pair, and they're the same sort of thing as the above, only less massive, two sizes fit all. I've seen the like at stores such as Wally'sworld (walmart!) too...

I just picked up a pair of teardrop shaped breast forms because I thought they would be the most natural (they have a nice gentle slope at the top). But when I put them on, you could see them poke out the top of a moderately cut halter dress. I'm sure they'd be great for a closed top dress, but I plan to pick up a new pair - either triangle, or raindrop. Any thoughts on which one offers the most natural shape with the most concealability?

Also, a while ago, I saw a bra-type device that can be worn under a bra and forms which pushes the skin up to create natural cleavage. Is anyone familiar with this or know where to get one?

Thanks for your help!

You should check out Frederick's of Hollywood. They have some really nice ones that are about half the price you just mentioned

I have purchased a couple pair from Glamour Boutique. They are reasonable and feel great. The first pair I ever bought was out of the Sears cataloge for mastectamy prostesis. They were double the cost and had the same feel as the ones I got from Glamour Boutique.

There are a few cleavage creation techniques. For example, there's the Veronica, the Nu-Bra method, as well as various tape methods, including Chest Tapes (http://thebreastformstore.com/chest-tape.aspx) from The Breast Form Store. Some of these techniques work well with breast enhancers, but aren't really suitable to use with full forms. If you do a search though the old threads here you will find quite a bit about the Veronica, the Nu-Bra, and cleavage taping.

For concealability, I'd say go with the triangles. I recently bought a set of these (http://thebreastformstore.com/transform-triangle-breastforms.aspx), and love them.

Mostly.

The full size silcone ones that get warm and, bounce and feel real are about $300 or more, depending on the size.
Some have nipples some do not. With some of the better ones you have to by the nipples separately,(another $200 or so).

I suspect if you wear them everyday the cheap ones (less than $100) will not last.

The good ones glue one(a medical glue and remover), most say you do not need a bra and can go swimming with them on.

just a few, search on the web.

Shop around get brand and models to compare prices.

There is a big difference in prices and sometimes Ebay does sell the best quality for a big discount.

Ebay does have deals but from looking at them they are not the best quality, if they are you can not tell until you get it home.

The forms that just make you a little bigger can be $20 at ebay or less.

Hi clairemarie,
I am going to give you some advice, but I need more information. I am going to presume you live in the USA. Also, how experienced a crossdresser are you? If you are just starting out, I would tell you not to buy silicone forms. They are expensive. You may not want to continue dressing down the road. If you are just starting out, I would recommend that you buy weighted foam rubber ones. Now, if you are more experienced, I would recommend you purchasing silicone ones from Glamour Boutique at: http://www.glamourboutique.com/ While writing this, I just tried looking for those foam rubber ones I described. I could not find them online at work.
