Tomorrow I will be marching in the Veteran's Day parade and I will be dressed as 'Gennee'. This is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. I'm both excited and honored. I hope to meet other LGBT veterans who have served our country. I will do my best to get some pictures of me.

Wow, how'd you pull that one off? Or is crossdressing in a military parade a "don't ask don't tell" kind of thing?

Gennee -- Good for you, girl. Read some of your blog. Is the LGBT veterans' group a large one? I hope you do get some pics to share with us. Good luck and take care.

This is the first year that CD's can dress for the parade. This is the fourth time the LGBT vets will be in the parade.

I just came to the meeting for the first time last Sunday. I don't know how large the group is but I'll probably find out tomorrow. I will try to get some pics. I need new one for my avatar. :D

Gennee,

You are The Lady!!

I think it is wonderful to display your patriotism by marching in the veteran's Day parade! You go girl!!!

But, at risk of sounding ignorant....what does LGBT stand for? I'm not familiar with that acronym.:D

LGBT stands for Lesiban Gay Bisexual TransGender

Thanks!!! I should have known that but I was trying to associate it with veterans for some reason....

I'm so glad that you'll be marching in the parade!

I watch our town's Veteran's parade every year. Most of the vets don't fit in their uniforms any longer, might as well wear a nice dress.
I hope you enjoy the parade.

Thank you all veterans for your service.

As a veteran, I have to say that is a gutsy thing to do. I wish you all of the luck in the world. You GO GIRL!

As Barry Goldwater said:

"You don't have to be straight to be in the military; you just have to be able to shoot straight."

Too bad more don't share that opinion...
