half done nails

Well, I have begun the treatment on my right hand nails with some Nail Tek hydration therapy. Clear, shiny. Only on my right hand because those are the nails I grow out for playing guitar. Only now I am shaping them much more feminine. So my hands are 1/2 femme, but I am loving the look and feel, and if anyone makes any remarks, I'll just tell them I'm working on making stronger nails which won't break for playing guitar!

Why not do both hands. If anyone questions you till them the same thing. That one hand look strange so you did both. Go for it gurl.

Flamenco players absolutely must grow their nails, and fingerpicking styles do sound better if your nails can pick the strings, just say that you play guitar and people will leave it be.

Another guitar player here. I actually can't keep my nails as long as I like on my right hand, expect for my thumb, since pure nail hitting the string has too much attack for me. I tend to do a flesh and nail hit giving a little bit softer sound. I do use a nail strengther on my thumb since it takes a couple of months to grow back to length I like it.

yeah, sometimes you want a softer sound, but not exactly dampened, using a pick on some songs just doesn't sound right.
