My son and I went to the beach this past Saturday to fly kites and watch the sunset. While getting out some things from my truck he flipped the seat forward and commented on not one but two purses I had stuck behind the seat. He inquired if they were "Mom's". All I could say was "Perhaps we should have a talk". Dropped the tailgate and we sat there and talked a bit. He told me two weeks ago that he was bi. The Saturday prior to Halloween we attended the lgbt center's "Nightmare on Normal" haloween party. And picked up some info on the Youth Center while by the center.
When I told him I was trans his response was "And? So what. You're still my Dad." Rather anticlimatic. He had neither questions nor comments.

I'll bet you're relieved, huh? How old is your son? Mine had pretty much the same reaction - he's 25. Glad he could see the important part of it all.

Oops, should have mentioned that. He's 16. And relieved? It's like a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders.

He had neither questions nor comments.

Most likely, he might in a week or two.

No doubt, you're gonna ace it.

I came out to my cousin, Sean as being trans recently and he asked me a lot of questions which was no bad thing, I just answered them as best as I could and that is the real advice I can give you. If your son does come to you with a question or two, just do what I did and you'll be fine.
