Hi All!

Recently I found myself becoming nervous of shopping (even thougfh I have bought things a number of times with no problem) and today I found a pair of jeans I loved (hipster, flared leg  ) reduced. I thought about it, with them being a size 18 (UK) I didn't think they would fit - and I couldn't try them on...

I thought that a size 20 was my size - as my skirt is a perfect fit but when I tried on my other pair of jeans (also a 20) they were baggy. I thought about them some more and decided not only to get them but challenge myself to rid me of my nerves too.

I went out this time underdressed, in g-string, black tights and this time I wore my black pumps with my other guy clothes. With my guy jeans, it was clear to any one who looked that I was wearing tights and fem shoes. I went in, browsed briefly and qued and paid.

The only nerves I felt was whilst quing but I just kept my eyes ahead and acted as normally would when shopping for anything in guy mode. So I don't know if anyone noticed and for once I'm not bothered either!:D

Anyway, so here I sit wearing my new jeans (which I have just put on) and they surprisingly fit nicely - not too tight - though I am an in-between-y size I am starting to loose weight (less curries, more lovely apples, grapes but still too much KFC) which I will measure through size changes!

Whew  this is a longer post than I thought but I will finish with a question. When I went out dressed (as little as I was) I felt very nervous but at the same time I felt more empowered and confident than I ever have in my life - where as I'm usually told I need to be more confident. So do any of you other ladies feel more confident when dressed (at all or when shopping)? I found the feeling of the clothes acted as a reminder as to why I went shopping and generally made me feel great.

Thanks!

Ata girl!! No one really cares what you buy anyway! And the stores love us!! I surmise that we are single handedly keeping the economy going!! Lol

Way to go girl! I agree with Karren, no one really cares what anyone else is wearing or buying, or at least not so much as to make a scene about it in a store.

It is your civic duty to spend your dollar or pound or euro or whatever to help keep your national economy competitive on the world stage. And if it takes buying something new everyday, then that's a sacrifice I will gladly make. Now where is my debit card, I'm off to find that perfect skirt.

When I went to the big Tri-Ess Event this last weekend, I was nervious driving over. (Note to self, finish post of Event)....I got dressed in the truck, then had to walk about a block distance to get to the main entrance. Had to walk past many guest leaving and arriving. No unusal looks or stares, even from any of the guest inside the Hotel. Then I noticed how calm I was. I was not the bit nervious. Talk about a boost in confidence. I too just looked straight ahead, held my head high, put a little wiggle in my walk and walked into the Hotel. Got an even higher boost when I passed a guest coming out at the same time I walked in and he said "Morning Mam".

I got a real boost a couple of months ago, when I weighed in at the Doctors office and I had dropped 23 pounds. Then I found a size 12 dress, decided to see how it looked on me, even if I knew it would not zip up. Tried it on and to my amasment it zipped up and was not tight. I had went from a size 16 to a size 12. I was on cloud nine the rest of the day.
