Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone could give me some hints on how best to spend a very limited budget (£20 a month!) for dressing.

At the moment, my collection consists of :-

A navy blue pencil skirt
A pink nightie
A pair of opaque black tights
A couple of pairs of 15 denier natural tights
An underwired bra
A non-underwired bra
A couple of pairs of panties
A couple of thongs
A bottle of clear nail polish
And some balloons that I fill with water to fill out my bras!

So, it's only very limited at the moment.

I'm considering saving up for another few months, and investing in a wig, followed by some breast forms, and some shoes.

Does anyone think this is a good idea for my next purchases, or should I be considering something else?

Thanks for any suggestions!

I have pretty expensive taste but I've found some awesome deals on ebay. My first wig I bought for under $10 w/shipping and it wasn't bad. Actually, I think the one I'm wearing in all the photos came from there to and was only a little more expensive. I've also gotten great deals on clothes and also gotten some junk :( like shoes that looked like PVC rubber or a top that didn't fit. I usually look for lables that I recognize. Set a limit before you bid and wait to bid until < 2 mins. Give people less time to decide to up their limit.

Happy shopping!

My first reaction is "girl...get a better high paying job"!!! Crossdressing isn't an easy hobby and it sure isn't cheap!! But then reality sets in and I realize that we all have budgetary limitations!!! Hehehe

Soooo, look for quality fem clothing on clearence.....after Christmas and New Years are good times!!! Also thrift and resale shops...... I don't frequent these but many girls love them!! I perfer new, off the rack, try them on in the store so I don't have to take them back type purchases!!

If you're trying to pass as female, I'd personally get the wig+breast forms first! Those may allow you to pass as female even while wearing men's clothing.

I'm not a big shoe gal myself, but I'd get a nice pair of black sandals, maybe 3-4 inch heel. Hunt around online, and you can probably find some on deep discount after the holidays.

And, take a look at the E.L.F. line of cosmetics www.eyeslipsface.com

They're amazingly inexpensive, and they're great buys. Just know that their lipsticks are all really glorified lipglosses, so you'll want to go with another brand for that.

Good luck!

Wow thanks for all the replies!

I'll definately have to start with Ebay I think, hopefully I might be able to get a bargain wig or breast forms or shoes (I really wish I didn't have size 12 clodhopper feet!) on there as well!

Thanks for that link Sedona - I've just had a good look, and the prices seem very good!

There's a new primark due to open where I work, so I'll be there on opening day looking for bargains.

Ohh yes I agree with that!! I'm very very glad I stocked up on pantyhose before I became Mr. Mom! You HAVE to have more than "a couple of pairs" and in all kinds of deniers. It's gonna be 48 here in Atlanta tomorrow and I'm wearing opaque tights tomorrow instead of the sheers! Anice pair of chololate or cream colored Wolford's shall be nice and comfy on the couch with a long corduroy skirt.

You gotta have shoes, if you plan on going anywhere. Wig and boobs are fine but you'll go through a lot of hosiery without shoes.

Wow, so much to buy, and so little money.

I think I'll have to have a sale on Ebay myself to raise some funds!

Hello,

I just thought I would offer what I could to you. I bought 5 wigs online before I found the one I like. Three of which I will keep but two I don't want and was actually thinking of donating them to a second hand store. If you are interested in them, send me a private message and I will describe them to you and/or send pics of them to you. And if you want, I will mail them to you...at my expense. I don't want any money for them.

I know how it is to be on a VERY limited budget but want to feel girly in the process. Let me know.

I don't think it has been as warm as 48 F here in the last month; these days if it gets up to 35 F, we start take off our jackets; at 48 F, we'd be in short sleeves.

Meanwhile, I've got a large bag of pantyhose, and keep buying more because I never have the "right" shade in the right place.
