I haven't posted on these forums yet, but have come to question I finally have decide to post about. I am fairly tall 6'3" and I have yet to find a pair of tights or stockings that seemed to have fit me properly. They always seem a little short or almost TOO tight around my body. I am pretty thin with a 32 waist so when looking at sizes at various places they usually have their sizes for up to 6' and then for queen sizes of 42" waist or soemthing like that.

I have tired a few types of queen sizes that still seem to be a little short. Any sugestions about where to look for us that are taller then normal or tips on what sizes should fit better?

Thanks for the advice.

While I am shorter than you by one inch, I know what you mean. I prefer stockings which also require a garter belt. For inexpensive stockings go to your local Sears store and you will find stockings in 5 lengths with "E" being the longest. My inseam measurement is only 34, and these work really well. For 100% nylon, no lycra stockings, go to www.stockingshq.com (http://www.stockingshq.com), an English web site which has both an e-store and a forum with its own male issues forum. Stockings are more expensive here, especially the 100% kind, but the feel is sensational. Cervins come in size 6 which are very long, GIOs are another brand which also have long length, but are also very expensive. They also carry several brands with lycra in long lengths. SHQ customer service is fantastic if you have questions.

I have bought many pairs of stockings and pantyhose at www.mytights.com. I have found they have quite a large selection of styles and sizes.

Try wamlart....thigh high stockings....plenty of brands...the self supporting type or get a garter... As long as they don't go below the bottom of your skirt you should be fine!!

Have you tried the plus, or X sixes? I'm 6'0"" (183 cm) and I can get into Hanes 2X, but I go the next size larger, 3X for more comfort. Hose designed for legs with a bigger circumference than usual can also be stretched the other way on legs longer than normal.

I'm 6'-1" and have been having the same problem for years. to get something TALL enough, I have to go for a 2x or 3x which has a MUCH too large waist size. If I go for a fit in the waist, I am constantly pulling them up!

The best I've found so far are from the Lane Bryant catalog. They sell several different makes of tights, so it is kind of 'hit or miss', but I have gotten lucky a few times and found some that are long enough without being too lose of a fit. The last time I got a pair that fit me well, I called the next day and ordered 10 more pair in different colors, since I don't know HOW long it would be before I would find something to fit again!

All things considered, I guess I'd rather have something a bit too lose in the hips than too short.

If you want Full Fashioned Stockings with seams, I'll suggest www.magnoliahosiery.com.

They supply most of the Companies that sell FF on the Internet and their prices are very low, in comparisom to others, for this type of product. They also sell a nice example of flat-knit seamless too.

Since you are a tall girl, you probably will want the XL "Opera-Length" Stockings. These are more expensive than the regular sizes, but quite a bit cheaper than what others usually charge for this type of stocking, I believe that they are at east 38 inches heel to top of the welt. These stockings do not stretch and you need to know what length is the right size for your leg. Just measure where you want it to go on your thigh and adjust up or down depending on the shape and thickness of your leg.

No, I don't get a commision from the company but they always seem to do a really great job! If you have any questions, get the phone number off the site and give them a call. Usually, you are talking to The Owner whose family has owned the mill and the machines for 80+ years. A very knowledgable and friendly gentleman. Think that you will be pleased.

Peace and Love, Joanie

Have you looked at Comfilon (Activskin)? They are tights and pantyhose for males. Some actually have a fly opening in front, but some are nothing but regular pantyhose in larger sizes and longer lengths. I have two pairs of the tights that I wear in the winder (even under drab clothes for warmth in the winter.

Datapoint: I'm 6', 200 lbs or so, and I often find "D" sizes to be usable. Not universally, by any means -- but generally, the "D" that do not fit me are usually not even close (e.g., cannot get them much past my knee.) Some "D" do tend to pull down on me -- but "Queen" in the same lines usually do as well.

So as a generality: in my experience, pantyhose and tights can often be used noticably outside the manufacturer's suggested height / weight range. Unfortunately it is very hard to tell just by looking at the package; hard to tell without trying them on.

For tights, a particular brand I've had success with is Truly, available at Zellers / The Bay (I haven't seen it elsewhere.) They are not fancy or high gloss, but they are durable and start out at a fair size, not as tiny little things that you have to stretch way up to put on.

Yes - http://www.comfilon.com has GREAT hosiery that actually FITS. They are a bit more expensive than drug stores, but well worth it. Plus, they outlast the cheap ones by far. Order up and tell Steve (owner) that Jennifer sent ya. ;-)
