Had some free time yesterday and went to the mall in San Antonio, Ingram Park Mall to be exact. Went to Gap Body first and picked up several of their nylon hipsters and bikinis that were on sale. Was offered a gift receipt, but I smiled and said I didn't need one. Not sure if the girl figured it out, but I wasn't trying to be shy about it.

Then I went to Frederick's. There were 3 girls working there and a couple of female patrons. As I walked in, one girl offered her assistance and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I said "No, just looking around for a bit." So she asked if I was looking for a gift. I smiled and said "No." She got it instantly and smiled back and said, "let me know if I can help you find anything." As I browsed all of the wonderful lingerie, another girl named Miranda also offered her help. I had spotted a red teddy in an XL that I really liked, so I just told her "I'm shopping for myself. Would it be possible to try something on?" Without hesitation, she said "Sure. No problem. I'll get you a dressing room started. I had her grab the teddy in an xl and asked abot some bras in a 42b. She got me started in the dressing room and kept bringing me bra after bra as well as some other teddies. I think I tried on about 5 bras, 3 teddies, and a couple of garter slips/chemises that look like teddies, but have an open bottom. I finished trying everything on and walked out of the dressing room. By this time there were several girls browsing right by the dressing rooms and they all saw me walk out with a hand full of lingerie. Miranda asked hot everything worked. She was very discreet and respectful. I browsed around some more and decided to savor the moment, so I picked out a couple of corsets to try on. She said "This is our Renaissance corset. You'll love the way it shapes you and gives you that hourglass figure." So, back in to the dressing room I went, again right in front of several female patrons. The corset worked great (I'm wearing it right now) and did everything else. I ended up with the red teddy, a bra and panty set, the corset, some stockings and a body stocking that I've been wanting forever. Miranda was awesome in helping me out without making a fuss about anything. I could not have had better customer service.

Then I walked over to Victoria's Secret. I've shopped at VS many times in the past and always am open about the fact I am shopping for myself. The store was a little busy, but I found a slip with matching panties that I really liked, but the VS stuff I have a tough time fitting into except for the panties. It was in a large, so I wanted to try it on. Again a seales girl offered her help and I bluntly stated I was shopping for myself and wanted to try on the outfit. She said "No problem. Let me check if there are any women in the dressing rooms and we'll get you a room." She was also very discreet and polite. She was cute and wearing an engagement ring, but had no hesitation in assisting me in shopping for myself. I waited for a while for the dressing rooms to clear out, but as the store was pretty busy, I finally gave up. She was ringin up two girls and I was standing right behind them. She was very apologetic for not being able to get me into a room, but I told her not to worry. I just said, "If these don't fit, I can return them right?" and she said that would be no problem. She said to check bak in a week as they would be putting out some new stuff for the holidays and sent me on my way with the slip and matching panties. I also bought 3 pairs of other panties, nylon, lace-trimmed hipsters in crocodile print.

Everyone I dealt with was extremely polite and helpful. They were also very discreet and accommodating, so I had a wonderful day shopping for lingerie. Now I just have to get around to wearing everything! So for any of you who are on the fence, just get out there and do it. It's such a wonderful time when you do. Some day in the future, all of my friends will know I crossdress, or at least wear lingerie anyway, and these are the small steps that lead to that comfort in who I am and society's acceptance.
