I grew up Episcopalian. My wife is a Presby, so I go with her. But when we lived in another city, we went to the Episcopal church as there was not a Presby church there that she liked.

Always knew us Prostistant Fish Eaters were cool!!

Oh by the way, there are High and Low versions of the church and "Trespassers" is the correct way (of course!! :D )

Thank you for sharing that Bill. It gives me hope. Due to the current public attitudes I am very anti church. The crap comming out of their mouths just doesn't square with what I know of Christ and what he wants. It is nice to see that there is a place where all are gods children no matter what.

Bill i love to hear that the episcopal church means so much to you.having been born into the church and raised in it and knowing the feeling that i still get when i walk in i know how you must feel.i was raise in the diosces of soputhern ohio ,the high part of the church.all of the pagentry of the church is there for a reason and the service has been changed over the years to make it mean more to the people of the faith. now we still have our biggots and hate mongers but they ARE slowly leaving for the other faith of choice in texas. may the peace of the lord be with you.

It is refreshing to hear about a church that recognizes the teachings of Jesus rather than the rantings of a bigoted patriarcal governing body.

And now I have a place to wear my dressy outfits again.

Very cool, BB!

On a related note, my 7-year old daughter requested a Playmobile navity scene. We've done pirates and princesses for years and love those sets ... but seeing how we're not religious in the least in this house, I was curious about her interest in this particular set. She pointed out the 3 wise men in their robes, manufactured exactly as the women's skirts in other sets, and told me, 'Now we can play pirates, princesses and crossdressers.' OK, I'm sold, honey.

I also grew up in the Episcopal church and was an acolyte for many years becoming a master acolyte. And I am still a member of the church. Overall the church is very open and inviting to others including visitors to participate and partake in communion. We have black, native American, and gay Bishops, and Female pastors. But I also know most churches have their frumpy conservative old moldy members that are very stuck on not ever changing. And being we live in a small conservative town we have more than our share of frumpy conservative old moldy members that think they run the church and try to. And considering members have pushed other people out of our church, I am sure a cder's acceptance would be even less in talking to these members.

Bill enjoy your acceptance, someday we will all have the acceptance we want.

PS B Bill you rock. Some day I will be out like you.
